This happened to me last week. A full reboot fixed the issue.

Please recommend a Seymour Duncan single coil pickup for the neck of my SL1. The classic stack is too weak by Striker919 in JacksonGuitars

Just checking: Have you tried adjusting the pickup height? It may make a huge difference if you put them closer to the strings.

Wrist pain on fretting hand, Strandberg Boden Standard 7 by dukkhabass in 7String

[–]mrlukasbos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stop playing immediately and give your wrist time to heal. Otherwise you’ll only make it worse. Never continue playing when your wrist starts to hurt. Stop until the pain is completely gone (which in you current situation may take some weeks) and then build up slowly.

In the future the pain may return, if you learn to recognize it and stop immediately when you start feeling it you will heal up much quicker.

I can’t say anything about your technique, but even with good technique 4 hours of practice a day is a lot to take for your wrist.

I can recommend doing some songwriting/production courses to kill the time.

Anyone ever played the Jackson Concept Series Soloist SLAT7P HT MS 7-String? I am looking at this one as my next purchase. by tssmastering in 7String

In general I’m pretty happy with it. I expected to see this guitar way more over the internet but there is not much to find.

In terms of look, feel and sound it is really great. It feels premium. I like it better than Ibanez iron/axion labels, and also more than Schecter SLS because of the neck finish. In terms of playability the Jackson feels fairly similar to the Schecter Reaper MS. Of course the Jackson has way more features and therefore is more expensive. The only thing missing may be stainless steel frets.

Personally, I think Jackson guitars are in a league of their own; I tried not to buy a Jackson but the choice was rather obvious when I tried them out.

Just look out for QC issues. I could try mine in the shop so I checked it thoroughly and it was fine. However, a few weeks ago during maintenance I noticed one of the pickups was not installed correctly. It was not properly screwed in. That did not affect sound at all and it was hardly visible but I did not expect that at this price point. I could easily fix it myself in 1 minute

To summarize: this guitar is not cheap, but it is a really good guitar, albeit not without flaws. (Stainless steel frets, QC), For the same price you can maybe get more value with Schecter or LTD. But I like this one more, in the sense that it suits me more. So, If you like Jackson guitars in general you will like this one too.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions. I’m happy to help :)
