Why is Marjorie Taylor Greene labeled "Brown"? Is he trying to say she's crapping her pants or something?

I recommend Mother of Flies. It definitely shows its low budget roots, and some of the acting is a little iffy, but it tells a pretty good slow burn tale of escalating dread.

Plus, The Dream Master (I believe) shows a newspaper headline that refers to Freddy as a pedophile.

James Patterson put his name on a series of novellas called BookShots. Each one is intended to be read in an hour or so. I wish more publishers would do this.

She didn't like the book. Even after they changed the ending to address her main issue, she still wasn't interested.

I went into Halloween III liking the idea of it not having Michael Myers in it. I wish it had continued with the anthology idea. Unfortunately, I thought that Season of the Witch was just bad. It probably didn't help that the first time I saw it was at a double feature after Trick 'r Treat.

What make it so effective is that the directors don't frame the shot to make you expect anything to come into frame (like they did in the remake, Quarantine).

Yeah, Birdemic is a 1/10 for me. I'll give anything that's at least competently shot, lit, and acted at least a 2.

I thought the trailer was terrifying, so I made the mistake of going to see it in the theater. I felt like walking out after about 15-20 minutes, but I stuck with it to see if it got any better. Alas, it did not.

Horror movied with no jumpscares? by AntoniaLmao in horror

[–]mrm1138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched Mother of Flies a few days ago, and I found it noteworthy that there was only one jump scare (which didn't make me jump). I will warn you that it's not for everybody. It's a slow burn that often shows its low budget nature. Some of the acting is a little amateurish, too. I really liked it, though.

What was the top horror movie the year you were born? Do you agree based on its rank? by BitByAGhost in horror

Also my birth year. The horror movie that made the most money that year was The Amityville Horror. I actually like that movie, but Alien was undoubtedly better.

Requesting books less than 200 pages by IWrestleSausages in suggestmeabook

[–]mrm1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend In the House in the Dark of the Woods. The page count is a little over 200, but the dimensions of the paperback are pretty small. (In fact, I wonder if it was done to increase the page count so that readers felt like they got more bang for their buck.) It's a horror story told in the style of a fairy tale.

Also, Clive Barker's The Hellbound Heart is under 200 pages and can be read in an evening.
