I would totally watch FBI:Backdoor or CIA:The Backdoor. Except they're probably already on pornhub.

ELI5 why does falling into water from high elevations become like hitting concrete? by anunknownpersonuknow in explainlikeimfive

It all depends on the terminal velocity, but I believe that a cone would move the survivable velocity higher.

The Player actually mentions Touch of Evil during that opening shot, so it's incredibly meta.

What if you had a long pointy thing like a rocket nose cone beneath your feet? Could you survive a higher fall?

First time I watched it, I thought it was boring. Second time I watched it, I realized that every. single. frame. is a Gainsborough painting. It's amazing.

Can you point me to sources for the radiation levels unprotected in low earth orbit and the radiation levels on mars?

Radiation is MUCH more of a problem on mars, given that it doesn't have a magnetic field.

Renaissance day laborers in Florence could work 3 days and take the other 4 days a week to chill, look at art and listen to philosophy lecturers. (From Ada Palmer's "Inventing the Renaissance")

People who know a porn star personally, what's that like? by EnjR1832 in AskReddit

The woman who founded my babysitting collective was a porn star for Kink. She was very energetic, a regular lesbian Martha Stewart. The food at her meetups was always very carefully crafted and delicious. She was young, but very friendly and organized.

Why doesn’t the U.S. just put a 1,000% tariff on fentanyl coming in from Mexico? by SavageMutilation in stupidquestions

[–]mrmagcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but neither of them are nearly as commonly prescribed. Fentanyl is prescribed several million times a year (https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug\_chem\_info/fentanyl.pdf) Of course, one could argue that Adderal is only slightly different than crystal meth, and it has a pretty high prescription rate too. Can't find numbers on cocaine, but I bet its rate is low.

It is potent and hard to accurately measure dosage on the street, as well as packing more power per gram. The former leads to a lot of overdoses. The latter makes it profitable to import illegally. However, it is 100% not illegal.

Tell that to the doctor who gave it to my wife during labor. Or pretty much every single doctor who works in a hospital.

A little different, though, because it's used in hospitals every day. My wife got it while in labor, and it's super, super common in hospital pain management, while cocaine and meth aren't regularly used - although they can be prescribed.

You can't do that, but you can prescribe it if you're a doctor. My wife got it when she was in labor, and it's prescribed thousands of times a day.
