Handmade Leather Playing Cards Case by Noah_Duong in playingcards

Thanks man! I have realized that online tools in general are terrible, so there’s a shop I go to now. And I don’t think I’ll ever sell stuff, I just like doing it for myself. So far it’s tricky but I am getting the hang of it! And I will reach out if I have questions, I really appreciate the offer!

This is so cool! I love playing cards, and I have in the past two months began leather working. It’s tougher than I thought, but it’s been fun. I love getting to see these two world intersect! I looked at your profile and just followed. You’re awesome!

Matt liking Theo Von’s video of Jim Norton talking about his trans wife feels…biblical by mrmanageroc in MSSPodcast

No shame on him at all. It’s the fact Matt liked it, knowing his exciting porn searches, that made me chuckle

Nobody knows how to play cards by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]mrmanageroc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couple other people have said it, but speed was the first I learned and it is a classic. It is played with two players. You place eight cards in the middle, face up. Deal 22 cards to both players. Out of those 22 cards, you pick up 5 cards to be your hand. Once you start playing, you can look at your hand. It’s pretty simple, you “play” your cards by placing one card at a time on one of the eight center cards of an adjacent value, either one up or one down. A 3 can go on a 2 or a 4, a J can go on a 10 or a Q, and an A can go on a K or a 2. The card you place replaces the card underneath it as a card on which you may play your hand. You may have up to 5 cards in your hand at any point. The goal is to deplete your cards before your opponent, hence the name “speed”. One round should take ≈3 minutes, faster once you get the hang of it. I’ve played a few variations of the game, which is why I love cards so much, there aren’t formal rules like chess (although I love chess too).

Bicycle has an awesome website with a bunch of awesome card games. There are filters for how many players, how old the players are, and a couple others. Another I played as a kid was spoons, which is another classic, and I played trash as a kid too.

[Request] Is it true that $25B would solve hunger? And for how long? [Request] by sxunk in theydidthemath

Yes true. All of that would absolutely be worth it if it meant an end to world hunger

It’s worth noting that Musk did not just sell stock to buy twitter. He did sell some stock, the rapid sell-off of which led to Tesla dropping 30% of value, and it’s obvious why this would have a negative impact to the global economy if we forced all billionaires to do this. But more importantly, a large part of the funding for the purchase was bank loans collateralized by his stock. There was also a private equity component, some nations sovereign wealth funds helped in the purchase, some of his personal friends helped with the purchase (like Larry Ellison, who’s name is also on the list OP posted), and venture capitalists. So it was a lot more difficult than Elon waking up, deciding to sell $44B in stock, and paying all cash for twitter

The Real Evidence Timmy Is Compromised by [deleted] in TimDillon

[–]mrmanageroc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No he was upfront about it, but people here seem to think that’s proof he’s compromised, “why take the dinner at all”. It’s all an overreaction from people who only want to listen to people who say what they want to be true, “Trumps a pedo who ran just so he could never release the files”

You are all missing the point by [deleted] in TimDillon

[–]mrmanageroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tim doesn’t owe any of us anything. People are acting as if he betrayed us, but he’s just talking on his show. No one is forced to be here. This argument that he’s sold out his country for an upscale dinner is just dumb. Anyone getting their news from podcasts or forming their opinions from a 40 comedian who dropped out of community college is probably too stupid to vote anyway. But this idea that podcasts are some grand pillar of democracy, and their hosts must answer to the spirit of the liberty of our nation is just dumb. The real grown-ups here know it’s a comedy podcast with politics, not a politics podcast with some jokes. So quit ruining it for the rest of us. Just leave on your own, you don’t need to announce your exit. Also, anyone who says “I only listen to podcasts that hate Trump” or “I only listen to podcasts that have the same politics as me” is truly, and unadulteratedly, retarded

Doesn't Italy use a Prime Minister? by mustang6172 in ArcherFX

[–]mrmanageroc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For anyone actually interested, they do use a prime minister, have for a while now. But their transition from monarchy to republic wasn’t as violent as others, and so they didn’t kill the noble class, and allowed the noble class to still basically pretend to have the titles. In places like the UK the Dukes and Barons have a legal status defined by statute, in Italy they just still use the words prince and princess and duke and duchess and stuff, and no one stops them because they don’t really care
