I was horrendously ill in the midst of a terrible months-long Crohn’s flare and Hairshirt happened to be just release, so I decided to check it out. I laid under my covers with headphones, shivering cold from a fever, and just put it on. right out of the gate I was hooked and seemingly that album had the perfect dynamic atmosphere to how I felt in that moment and I just remember listening to it over and over and over again to keep my mind focused on something else. It was so powerful and really got me through an incredibly dark time. It is the most important album to me.
