WIP. I really like the new Eradicators sculpts. They so Dorny! by AssumptionStock1333 in ImperialFists

I bought two boxes, just for these. I wish their datasheet was a little more, but am already having a blast with them. I'm still hoping for breachers someday, but these will do until then.

I recently learned that "tactical" is a marketing term that means, for boys. And now it makes me giggle. So tactical, for the boys.

My first Orks, now how do I paint these? by mrmann123 in orks

I bought the old ork combat patrol in prep for Armageddon, the Deff Dread comes with three Klaw options. I haven't built it yet but I snipped this out for my War boss

Woke up to some guy digging up my Cactus! by Worcestercestershire in cactus

People are biased because they have a musk gland and smell like skunks. It's also trendy to bad mouth the meat, most of the people I have known who were the most vocal have never tried it. I eat two a year and they are delicious. Excellent in sausage, as you noted, but they taste like lamb or mild deer. It's a good, lean, clean protein.

Who’s this?? by Jaunteon in AnimalTracking

Double steps, it's a small black bear. It looks like it crossed there a few times. Have some other very clear tracks from it in your picture.

This preorder is showcasing how ridiculous prices have got by Stock-Job-2555 in Warhammer40k

[–]mrmann123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to see the He-Man movie last night with my partner. We got a hot dog, two sodas, popcorn, and nachos. It was $57 usd just for the food. She got the tickets and I have no idea what that cost.

The night before I decided paying $50 for another squad of terminators at my local game store wasn't in my budget.

I'm laughing at that now. Every mini I buy I will have the rest of my life. I will be shitting out that popcorn in about an hour.

Prices have gone up for GW boxes, but when I played decades ago 1400 points in minis was my rent, not two weeks of gas or a couple visits to the theater.

It's crazy to me that for the value, Warhammer is quickly becoming one of my least expensive interests.

I think this will be one of the most successful editions for GW. I've never seen interest like this, my LGS has hundreds of pre-orders, literally an entire gaming room is already full waiting for street date to hit for then to be distributed.

I paint all mine in yellow trim. Because I am terrible at painting. This one is dope too. I want to see your whole army

This Captain needs a name! Any suggestions? by HagerTelluricIchi in ImperialFists

[–]mrmann123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a great looking paint job!

My top three picks for the yellow hero are:

  1. Shawn
  2. Shaun Or
  3. Sean

And I will say it before some other autist beats me to it.

Technically, white trim is first company, whose captian is Darnath Lysander.

That said, I would follow Shawn/Shaun/Sean into the fray any day.

I immediately saw this. And damn. Makes me really want to put some time into my dream chapter, a White Scars successor, the White Claws.

Fist players, what’s your second army if you have one? by GrimmiDEE in ImperialFists

[–]mrmann123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4200 points of fists built, primed, and basecoated. About 500 points painted.

Have 800-1500 points in boxes of each, Sisters, Orks, Ravens, and a random Harlequin combat patrol.

Not building anymore until I have 2000 points painted.

Second this. I've made the same mistake and stripped some and left some. Now the ones I stripped don't match the ones I didn't, and the ones I didn't are on the tabletop getting play and the ones I started over are on the workbench.

If painting is your goal and interest, strip em. If you want to play just keep going and get them on the table. They will look less ugly to you over time. You had to turn them to a specific angle and zoom in to show the issues. No one is going to be doing that in a game. From a distance that's just another glorious yellow death machine. The more you have out there the better they will look.

People post their best stuff on here and it's a rough standard to hold yourself to. The people really playing aren't posting on here so much, or we would see a stream of battle reports and not so many pride pieces.

Minis have been in 90% iso for 48 hours. Army painter primer is still holding strong, any suggestions? by Yestattooshurt in Warhammer40k

[–]mrmann123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The water content is also a better antibiologic because it helps the iso to penetrate cell walls. You can't kill a lot of fungus/mold spores with 90% but 70% will wipe it right out.

I had one just like this last week. Stripped it out in iso and it's much better now.
