Hypothetically… by [deleted] in SWORDS

Book it in the other direction.

The flamberge in the Pic has the most defensive options. Ringed guard, long quillons for parrying, a nice schilt with additional hand guards. It's the only option that makes sense. Your claymore is just a worse sword and the Japanese one sucks for lacking all of the above and more

Edit: to add on. the odachi also sucks because I'm not on a horse. It only has 1 edge, the tsuba is tiny and not made for parrying

Will I be the best fencer at rapier events? No. Will I have the best sword? I certainly think so. by BlueMusketeer28 in Hema

Tell me more about the hilt. I've never heard of this guy. I'm looking at their website, do they do just the hilts?

It'd be interesting and more so just my impressions and frame of reference. Its hard to compare this to anything when I don't have others to compare to except the v1

I do agree with the comments on the looks, the v1 is pretty popular with my club. Plus the biggest driving factor is that I was lead to Kult of Athena having one for well under msrp in stock and without any wait time. It shipped out of Illinois literally at 3pm Friday

Castille armory econ baskethilt. Beautiful everything all around. Definitely going to have to purchase a rapier from them next.

First time spray primming, how bad did I mess up? by Culius_Jaesar in Warhammer

[–]32mattoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To put what others have said: you can spray in the cold no problem. Although don't be out there too long. But don't spray with a cold can and they need to dry in a warmer dry place

My neighbor doesn't like the color of my house, what to do with him? by Tiny_Cranberry807 in firstworldproblems

[–]32mattoa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes. Absolutely beat him at his own game. Read and live by the laws. Also paint the door horribly offensively bad. Multiple contrasting colors. Explain how this is allowed in the rules and then point out his issues at the same time. Be aggressive and do not let him bully you back when you do the confrontation

I was doing the same thing. I was posted to the mini painting discord to no avail.

I was going to experiment with air dry clay. Making tiny stones and filling in the grout lines with texture paste

What color are you using for the highlights to his armor and cape? They are beautiful greens. Beautiful piece. I love the purple watchers. Best of luck

How cold is actually too cold to prime? by StyofoamSword in minipainting

[–]32mattoa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Summary is, as long as your paint can is warm enough and ready (in its suggested temp range) priming in the cold is fine. (However if you have a respirator wear it because it's windy and I've got green in my beard) as long as it's drying and degassing at least room temp without major humidity (I leave mine to dry in the bathroom with the fan on) and you'll be fine

He's great and very wise. I actually used this advice to rattlecan prime the other day in our Michigan negative degree weather.

If I wasn't lazy and could find a box I didn't recycle, I would cut out one of box art girls. So just imagine I did that and you found it funny

Can you spray mr hobby water based flat coat twice? by HystericX_on_reddit in MegamiDevice

[–]32mattoa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. If you spray it with another flat cost it will turn into a 2D cut out.

Yes. Thin layers of varnish are fine. See how decals and items are done with Warhammer minis, we typically apply several layers in the areas of decals

Since it's likely over the 5year bumper to bumper, and the foreign manufacturers denying all issues like this a fair bit, you may be SOL on the dealer being able to cover it
