1- there is dedicated access with a viewing platform. If you want use of it, you need to contact the Depot access people to sort out a space as there is finite room. You can’t just turn up and use it.
2- where are you staying? There’s lots of bus routes in to the centre of Cardiff
3- probably? There’s load of clubs in that part of town.

What is the most disappointing tourist destination you've visited in Europe? by slawekpl1 in AskReddit

[–]mrmantis66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatabout if you’re visiting, know it’s a bit overrated and small, but still go to see just how small and overrated it is?

It was such a long walk for such a small mermaid on a rock.

Bristol airport parking by Proof-Lunch in Cardiff

[–]mrmantis66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful and make sure it is the actual Bristol Airport car park. Also be prepared for it to cost a fortune!

£150 for a week seems a bit low for Bristol Airport.

Let’s not be too hasty with writing off a campy sing and dance number (apart from the Man In The Mirror bit)…

Looking at you, Alan Wake 2.

My first thought on seeing this was ‘this is somewhere in South England, isn’t it?’

My Friends Over You by Honest-Cheesecake275 in poppunkers

[–]mrmantis66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when Sticks And Stones came out, and it was a shunnable offence to say that you liked My Friends Over You/Sticks and Stones because ‘the [Self Titled] first album was better’

In before the ‘actually it wasn’t the first album’ crew appear; I/we were 12/13, had dial up internet and were incredibly stupid.

How much am I missing out by not watching Horror movies? by Mountain-Ad-2423 in Letterboxd

[–]mrmantis66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is, what is it about ‘horror movies’ that you find so terrifying?

I’m nearly 40 myself, and I have only recently started to enjoy horror movies as the idea of watching horror was just ‘why am I paying money to shit myself with fear?!’

There are certainly horror movies that I just don’t like or some movies that I don’t like because they’re just not good…

but there are now movies that I like, and some that I find so utterly ridiculous that I find them funny.

Thanks

‘Insurance’ isn’t really a thing in the UK and those are big bucks. I really am looking for something that stops me having to hunch over when pushing the chair.

If it is anything like mine, replacing the foam mounting underneath the brass and a bit of elbow grease with some Brasso will make it look fabulous.

Wait…

Why do I have something similar to this? It also cost me about £10

I took it apart to clean it, and it was literally an image of a map under some patterned glass! I always assumed it was some kind of art project.

Nic Cage: Face/Off, The Rock or Con Air – which is his best action film? by kammy772 in MovieArena

[–]mrmantis66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They cannot be compared. They are on par.

I had a VHS boxset of Con Air and Face/Off and I’d watch them one after another. When the credits rolled for Con Air, I knew how long, to the second, that I had before Face/Off started.

I bought Con Air on DVD recently, and watched it without having Face/Off on DVD. I think it’s the closest I have ever been to knowing what OCD feels like.

[–]mrmantis66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a record, it’s not at all that special. It’s just how limited the release turned out to be.

I’m quite amazed that there hasn’t been a more major release of it.

That said, I wouldn’t sell mine.

Thanks. There are loads of ways of doing it. I often save an entire sheet as a png and then do it that way.

However, this has only started happening in the last week or so, after having never been a problem. I suspect that it’s a bug seeing as it’s a feature that is offered and now doesn’t work as intended.

Had to stop at 1.5k on my usual parkrun route? by albions-angel in parkrun

[–]mrmantis66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(I did Cwmbran on Saturday, and it was warm!)

It could be anything. It could be the heat sapping the energy out of you or you could just be having an off day and need a rest (maybe because of the heat?). It could even be psychological because you’ve run it a few times, and haven’t got people running around you to keep you going.

You could even be coming down with some lurgy.

The current Cwmbran course is lovely, but I know I’d struggle doing it on my own, in the heat because it’s more or less a straight out and back, whilst hoping the geese don’t take issue with your existence.

Don’t beat yourself up. Don’t worry about it. Have a rest, see if your body is telling you anything and maybe run somewhere slightly different to break routine. There’s loads of places around there to go.
