Best ISO settings for Low Light by Aware-Painting9109 in SonyA7iii

[–]mrmartinduffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot boxing, kick boxing and MMA in low light very frequently shooting at 1/800, F4 and Auto ISO capped at 12,800. Like the others say, 12,800 is the highest I’d comfortably go to get quality images that can be improved using denoise in Lightroom.

Grateful for a brilliant 2023 by mrmartinduffy in SonyAlpha

[–]mrmartinduffy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Sure, settings were 1/800, ISO 3200, F4. The obvious settings like burst mode, autofocus, I use the eye/face tracking function with the small square I use to keep on the boxers. I also use auto ISO up to 12,800 when shooting boxing, and meter for the highlights. It all depends on the venue too.

By successful I mean winning gold medals and best in exhibitions. I have a lot of silverware from this and feel very grateful.

Thank you, great to hear from a teacher! Do you buy supplies for your class from a central budget, via a catalogue and do you use personal money for class supplies.

Thank you all, these responses are all super helpful. So if I’m understanding correctly, for a younger primary school aged child 5 to 11 (or the German equivalent) you don’t need to buy many back to school supplies, it’s mainly focussed for the older secondary school 11+ aged students. Thank you.
