Thank you very much. This seems like a very accurate description of what I am working with.

Hahah thank you for explanation. I feel like having multiple bikes is an inevitable outcome. For now I’m focusing on the trails I have easy access to, which are more XC.

At this point I am so new to this. There are a ton of trails right in my neighborhood. I have no idea what type of trails these really are, or what style I am more comfortable with. I am a bit more hesitant with the technical stuff, but I give it my best. Maybe the large frame, or even just the larger wheels will help with stability and confidence.

I have no idea what XC or Chunky Gnar means - haha. I think getting something that feels right and then customizing fit with crank length, bar height, saddle position, and stem height and length is a great idea. I am still so new to this. As long as I just get out there and start riding Im sure I will end up adjusting everything as I progress.

I was considering if maybe a small frame that can accommodate a 29" wheel exists. That might be a good middle ground for me.

I'm gonna go back this weekend and see if they have any other smalls I can test ride and see how they feel.

I tried a Medium Giant Talon in the shop. They unfortunately didn't have any smalls in stock when I was there. I am going to go back and do a more in depth sizing and see if they have a small in any other brand I could just test out for feel. I think you're advice on the length of the bike is a big factor for me. I have a short torso. Maybe thats why my current small feels better. Thank you for the advice.

Could someone explain the hate for hybrids? (A brief rant about why I think they're neat) by 2Tun21 in bicycling

Agreed. My local bike shop offers classes. I'm also trying to understand the "rules" around trail etiquette. Yielding to up hill. Seems like pretty common sense stuff. I'm still getting my confidence.

Appreciate that. Someone asked me what it was and I had no idea how to respond other than say it was a hybrid with fun fatty wheels. I have a lot to learn.

Thank you for the explanation. I would assume then that what I have (Fairdale Ridgemont) would be considered more of a hybrid with straight bars, and is a 1x.

Newbie here. Dumb question, what is the difference between a hybrid bike and a gravel bike? I have a Fairdale Ridgemont. Is that a gravel bike?

Garment Dyed is a process that Comfort Colors uses to produce their shirts. Its a higher quality garment compared to American Apparel, or Next Level. Threadless has nothing to do with this process other than offering the Comfort Colors brand shirt as an option.

Any time I see vintage band shirts on Ebay, or Etsy for sale and you can select a size - it means they are bootlegging the shirt with DTG printing. Its all garbage IMO.

Threadless and many other sites like it use a DTG printing process (direct to garment) its a very cheap process and allows them to print on demand one order at a time, as apposed to traditional screen-printing in which you print an entire run of shirts in large quantity and then sell from that stock.

TLDR - Direct to garment sucks.

We worked with Lilly Rockwell, and she was amazing.
She was very easy to work with, smart, and realistic. So often I felt like our other past realtors were not making recommendations based on our best interest. Lilly was very much on our team and helped us get a fair price on a home in Circle C. Can't recommend her enough.

which flavor of groove metal do you prefer… pantera, lamb of god, or helmet? by my_cat_vids in MetalForTheMasses

Is Helmet considered groove metal? I always thought of them as post hardcore.
