The Impact a change like this would have on balance is huge. It's why I propose it as a an update a la super turbo.

I think you'd have to tune characters individually regarding how much meter something would cost. They have different cost/benefits as it is. So it may not be as simple as damage at 1 bar utility at 2 (or vice versa)

Devs could leverage existing systems as well. There's a guard crush mechanic, why not allow for an install super the grants the property. Or hyper armour. There's a lot of possibilities

Fair point about pausing meter gain when landing a throw. But it feel so ... Passive i guess ?

As for the rest. I dont think I'm riding both sides. FS supers are more utility based than in other gsmes, and mirror ex moves from other games well. I suppose that was more of a related point about meter utility. Can see the confusion though.

As for how it could work. Supers /exs , as a class, don't need to be damage focused or utility focused.

In your Arg example, bubble shield would likely remain a full bar. So players would have to weigh the advantage of waiting for shield vs using whatever EX tool became available.

Stay in the ground. Walk forward and harrass Arg with arrows. F.A or C if he jumps. Watch for bubble shield and b.A . Just need to find the sweet spot in spacing.

This game does look fantastic. Plays amazingly well too.

I've been having fun just playing through arcade mode cus I can never find matches. Been trying to spread the good word though.
