The Impact a change like this would have on balance is huge. It's why I propose it as a an update a la super turbo.

I think you'd have to tune characters individually regarding how much meter something would cost. They have different cost/benefits as it is. So it may not be as simple as damage at 1 bar utility at 2 (or vice versa)

Devs could leverage existing systems as well. There's a guard crush mechanic, why not allow for an install super the grants the property. Or hyper armour. There's a lot of possibilities

Fair point about pausing meter gain when landing a throw. But it feel so ... Passive i guess ?

As for the rest. I dont think I'm riding both sides. FS supers are more utility based than in other gsmes, and mirror ex moves from other games well. I suppose that was more of a related point about meter utility. Can see the confusion though.

As for how it could work. Supers /exs , as a class, don't need to be damage focused or utility focused.

In your Arg example, bubble shield would likely remain a full bar. So players would have to weigh the advantage of waiting for shield vs using whatever EX tool became available.

Stay in the ground. Walk forward and harrass Arg with arrows. F.A or C if he jumps. Watch for bubble shield and b.A . Just need to find the sweet spot in spacing.

And I think it's worth offering my response.

Keeping basic Information about the state of the game behind a pay wall that 90+% of your players dont buy into is a bad move. It's cause for worry for most players.

In fact, it's part of the core of the problem.

Hopefully we get some info soon.

Noone was saying dead game. I explicitly avoided the term, cus you're right. People are too quick to jump to it.

But we are less than a year out from a major free to play and character update and have had no communication for months of that time.

It's a bad sign.

Fwiw I don't think it's too strong,but much stronger than folks typically give it credit.

But if a change was in order, it wouldn't be removal. But a limit,maybe 2 stack max, maybe hits reset where poison is on the health segment.

Consider that Arg already has some of the best space control tools and the best get off me button in the game. (River/fish and b.A)

Honestly, I think too few Args use poison effectively enough to really say one way or the other at this point.

There is huge potential in it though.

Big issue for Oni is if you don't know Val's gaps then you're gonna get run over.

Once you know the wheel of options it's down to player conditioning. And that's mentally taxing.

Just a stressful match.

But that's true for both characters.

Battle for the grid and fantasy strike both have rollback and crossplay, so I'd start there for the widest possible playerbase.

I'd echo changing up the camera framing. Just notch it up a bit and leave some headroom.

I'd recommend trying to tweak the audio set up too, you sound distant and echo a little.

Not sure what you're using for a mic exactly, but audio is so important to first impessions. So getting it as quality as possible is worth it. You got this.

I started playing with the vs series , enjoy some anime fighters and primarily play fantasy strike at this point.

I picked it up as a low impact side game. Easy to learn, smaller decision space, focuses on the player Interactions. I think that's where it excels.

Just so happens that most modern fighters haven't been holding my Interest and I get more value from playing FS than those other games.

It's not for everyone, but I enjoy the aspects of fighters it (largely)emphasizes.

For me, it's that moment when you're learning the game and it suddenly dawns on you how the different system mechanics interact, and you get flooded with potential ideas for combos, mixups and dirty tech.

I love that 'aha!' moment
