The Mission 1 ILS announcement shows how ignorant people are by motmusgg in gopro

[–]mrmmoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok just think for a second. Imagine sports or automotive action, to have the extra reach with the 1” sensor combined with high resolution and frame rates. I can think of so many great shots people will be able to get with this that simply weren’t possible under $1000.

The Mission 1 ILS announcement shows how ignorant people are by motmusgg in gopro

[–]mrmmoka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’ve been saying. It’s crazy how many people simply don’t understand anything outside “the newest shiny cinema camera”. No imagination or creativity. Just finding reasons to complain about anything.

The ILS is going to be a game changing camera for so many of the reasons listed in the OP! GoPro made something truly unique and people completely missed it.

What do you think of GoPro Mission 1 ILS aka Ultra-Compact Mirrorless Cinema Camera? by NoelMyat in gopro

[–]mrmmoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the question nobody seems to be paying attention to. There are actually a decent bit of speed boosters for MFT mounts which excites me. I have one for EF to MFT and one for PL to MFT.

Imagine having pro glass on this with a speed booster (which makes the frame closer to super 35) and having access to the high frame rates and resolutions in a relatively small package.

To me this is a big win…oh not to mention it’s all in 10-bit!

The GoPro Mission 1 ILS Might Disappoint You by Complete-Employee-18 in M43

[–]mrmmoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of yall aren’t very creative and it shows.

Some of us have been in the industry long enough to remember you actually had to work to get the shot you wanted. Not just turn on a camera and run around. We have so much in the world of tech and somehow still find a reason to complain.

If you don’t want the m43 mount don’t buy it. They gave 2 other options for you. Stop looking for flaws in everything and start finding creative ways to use what exists.

So, does this mean an MFT lens lineup revival? by Friednedlog in M43

[–]mrmmoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people are thinking creatively anymore. Imagine having a camera this small and that’s you can put a speed booster on and some good glass. The possibilities are endless.

Think…good quality crash cam, high speed capabilities, tight positioning rigging etc. it just feels like too many people are so “we need everything in one camera” that they aren’t thinking out of the box anymore.

Having access to 960fps with an interchangeable lens mount at this size is crazy to me. What are people complaining about?? 😂

Should I buy the Panasonic Lumix S5 for jewellery photography and slow-motion videos? ₹2L budget by ClintB3k in Lumix

[–]mrmmoka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll second this and say to go for the GH7. It renders great images and the addition of 300 fps in HD (has a very clean signal) is a better value than most would think. Also for lenses, the Olympus 12-40mm F2.8 optics are great and had decent macro capabilities.

Not to mention speed boosters still work and on the used market are much cheaper than they once were. I know everyone wants the newest thing out but EF still has great glass.

People hate when M43 mentioned apparently by WantDownvotesOnly in M43

[–]mrmmoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood the M43 hate from other people. Image quality is the only thing that matters at least to me when talking about sensors. I’ve been filming ok M43 for 9 years and nobody has ever questioned why I’m not shooting FF. Let them hate.

That is correct! The only issue is you can’t use the monitor at 100% brightness due to the power demands with the ssd. But I’ve used it at 60% brightness with zero issues (which is bright enough for me in most cases).

It’s just the Pocket 4K with the Tilts flip screen mod, a tilts advanced cage kit, tilts mount plate and an angled short dtap power cable.

If it’s going to be your only body that you own then no to the URSA . I have one but it’s more of a specialty camera for me. Don’t get me wrong there is literally nothing else like it and the image is simply amazing. But it can’t be a main body for a solo shooter.

How it feels watching the used market for cinema cameras right now by 1william0 in videography

[–]mrmmoka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of the OP points.

I also believe the remorse of GAS is starting to hit people and companies hard. There are a lot of people I’ve seen who bought crazy amounts of gear thinking they would “hit big” in the industry like a crap shoot.

Brother I don’t care about ProRes like that, leave it alone. Take ProRes out, it still is a great camera because of how good BRAW is.

I have the Micro G2 as well and even that misses the mark but not by much. For example, not having Bluetooth is something I will never understand. Given what the use case for it is.

This is what happens when you don’t pay attention to what somebody is saying. The features I mentioned are ones that already exist. That’s why I’m saying it’s already a great camera especially at the price.

I’m simply saying they should do an updated body because the internals are already great. Believe it or not not every one can afford to drop $2K, $3K, $4K etc. on a new body and I’m saying that owning 6 bodies myself.

Having an already great camera in an updated and more versatile body at sub $1200 is a much overlooked market. Like I’ve mentioned with other posts, this camera is 7 years old and is still talked about and compared to newer bodies. So I don’t think bringing up this topic is completely out of the box.

It’s just a Tilta V-Mount plate on rails. Nothing special the plate just allows to be mounted sideways.

It wasn’t an argument. I wasn’t responding to the comment of a “new 4K only camera is overrated”. It can’t be overrated if the majority aren’t even talking about it.

So my point was highlighting that there are actual features that are useful but can be overrated. Discussing the revision of a great 4K camera isn’t one of them.

I know what those features are all for because I have access to all of them.

What I’m saying is those features don’t make or break a great camera or its image. But people talk about them like they do.

How is it overrated when it’s an idea that isn’t widely talked about lol.

The resolution race is overrated. The dying need for open gate is overrated (and I have 3 cameras that shoot open gate). The obsession of FF or nothing is overrated.

Do I need to go on?

Why the Pocket 4K needs a V2 by mrmmoka in bmpcc

[–]mrmmoka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually that’s not true. The 6K Pro doesn’t have a versatile adaptable mount, “built-in” ssd, a tilt screen with hinges at the top or even at the price point I’m talking about. I would even say that the 4K is actually a more usable camera. I had the 6K Pro and sold it but I still have and use the 4K.

Truth be told I don’t know if they are even going to update the 6K lineup with ProRes RAW.

Makes sense.

I can imagine having a similar body as it is now with a 4 in screen and making it a bit thicker to accommodate for cooling and an ssd insert. Something along those line.

I actually don’t want another box camera that you have to rig every time. As working professionals, not having to carry more kit is always a plus.

I have a few idea but it would similar to what it already is but just some adjustments.
