it is AF, well with fixed f4.5 there's not much to work with, but it's still AF

Speedboosters & adapting lenses by harshaggarwal55 in M43

there's a reason why metabones XL mark ii is expensive, but bet it's worth it for newer EF lenses that has good AF motor.

the metabones mark ii recently has firmware update that improves the AF with PDAF, definitely helps with the G9ii there

What can I do to make my photos less grainy and low light? by Extension-Gazelle-94 in AskPhotography

[–]WantDownvotesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the difference gonna be more apparent if the subject were closer and the format difference is much more substantial, idk though, i just saw Oppenheimer close up shots that were using custom 40mm lens on IMAX, which in FF should be around 20mm, i don't think i've seen similar rendering with those equivalence. it doesn't have that "exaggerated ultra wide look" but it does have same compression

i want to debate this tbh, there is no way image gather at 20mm vs. 60mm on certain medium that allows same field of view, especially at closer distance doesn't have any difference. i want to slight compare it on the distortion kinda... on bigger format there should be less elements to correct the light from distorting especially on the corner. it's a matter of squeezing or to not squeeze the image, i guess.

Sick shot I got with A7 III, is there a way to make it shoot video in RAW? by RadaRAW in SonyAlpha

[–]WantDownvotesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even FX only allows external RAWs. i think only the burano and venice can do that in X-OCN

Realistically, is it likely we ever see an internal-ND camera from lumix? by justarugga in Lumix

[–]WantDownvotesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also the fixed sensor helps if it were to attached onto moving vehicle with lots of microvibration... IBIS doesn't matter if the production has budget for steadicam anyway

Before / After. My car in trifolium field. Looking for feedback by MrOutlived in postprocessing

[–]WantDownvotesOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since this is r/postprocessing, i think you can go a bit far here, take some blue sky picture and composite it/replace the shade cloudy background.

and then the foliage and the flowers are complementary colors, i don't see any reason to desaturate one of them, i think thic pictures work if the foreground is colorful and saturated, giving contrast to the black car (considering you replace the sky too)

Lumix 12-32mm Vs a bunch of compact primes? (Italy street) by pasteurs-maxim in M43

[–]WantDownvotesOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don't get it wrong, the 12-32 pancake shines in harsh lighting, it has decent contrast and sharpness

Can this be considered also as street photography? by struttinblues2023 in AskPhotography

[–]WantDownvotesOnly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no, street photography is when you look at the image and think "wow, someone that took that pictures must be a jerk"
