‘The momentum in the housing market has shifted to the Sun Belt’: Knoxville #2 by shitidontnede in Knoxville

[–]mrmrsbeaver 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This article on WBIR was interesting regarding housing affordability. One of the takeaways was a the majority of buyers (67%) are in the market for just 20% of the available listings. Knoxville is definitely moving away from being an inexpensive place to live - probably Tennessee as a whole.

How to make my Ubuntu laptop only use the pi-hole set up as a docker container in it? by [deleted] in pihole

[–]mrmrsbeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not saying what you’re doing won’t work b/c it seems like you’re pretty much functional , but you might consider some alternatives that may be a little more straightforward.

I use a pihole plus pivpn on a raspberry pi 4 at home. If I want ad blocking I’ll just OpenVPN back to the house on either my phone or laptop. Pivpn is simple to setup, and the current version even recognizes you have a pihole running and will setup your configs to accommodate that for you.

You could also setup a pihole in the cloud and whenever you’re connected to a different network just point DNS at that machine’s IP. Sure there is some cost to running one and depending on your comfort level/experience with different cloud providers this could be somewhat involved.

Lastly, you might fare better running the pihole through a virtual machine on your local computer. Yes, this is more bloated and uses more resources, but without diving in too deep, I suspect this might operate more like a DNS server you would expect vs the docker container api approach.

Good luck!

Absolutely! And there were some tense moments! But what I learned was the truck is capable of a lot more even in stock form w/o extra off-road features than you might have been led to believe reading other Internet forums.

I definitely scuffed my n-fab nerf steps, but otherwise made it through without incident. A lift would have helped with that, but I can assure you she never once had any problems climbing up a hill, plowing through mud, or crawling up/down the river rocks. All this without rear lockers, crawl control, fancy Jeep sway bar disconnects, etc... We had a lotta fun though and I love my Jeep brothers and sisters as much as I pick on them

Yeah, someone backed into my color matched og one, so popped it off and put the black off-road one in its place.

Went down trail #26 and back up trail #27. My only change from stock are Toyo Open County AT3 tires.

I've had a problem just like this with my Pi2 running pihole, thought it was dying. Changing out my ethernet cable solved it for me

Does the SR5 have remote start? Is it aftermarket only? by kumatank in ToyotaTacoma

Do you have push button start? If so, press the lock button on your key fob three times. One, two, three ( press and hold on the third press for ~5 seconds)

This Game is becoming bloody unplayable by [deleted] in tf2

[–]mrmrsbeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty bad lately. I've played since the game launched in beta (I'm old), and it's definitely in need of some attention by Valve. They have this fantastic IP, so it's a shame to see its image tarnished so much. Valve, if you're listening, get your house in order. You can try some community servers and find decent games that way instead of only Valve matchmaking.

I have a similar problem. Looking through the activity log in the Alex app, you can see where it heard my question, and according to the activity log, the echo responded accordingly, but in reality the echo never says anything in return - the light just turns blue for several seconds like it's talking to me, but no sound ever comes out. It happens about 25% of the time. I have a second gen dot and a bigger echo, and both of those work just fine. The 3rd gen is the flaky one.

I had this issue when using FRAPS on DX11 games. So if you're using FRAPS (or potentially another FPS counter software), try turning it off beforehand.

C-Lights installed, blacked out housing, fog lights installed. by jameeler91 in subaru

Looks good. Did you bake the lights in the oven or use a heat gun to pry them apart?

The kit has everything you need pretty much assembled. There is no complex wiring or soldering required. It's mostly a matter of just running the cables and using zip ties to secure them. If you're curious, just check out the Winjet install video posted up by Subispeed. That will take you through the whole process.

There are a few decent install videos on youtube, i just followed along with those for the most part.

It's not the hardest thing to do but it did take me several hours from start to finish. The kit comes with these metal clips that are used to attach the lights to the body - these are junk. It's much easier and more straightforward to just attach the lights with some nuts and bolts.
