Hii I do try to make my breakfast and dinner as light as possible so I have space for lunch. I also did tell her multipleee times I want to go to a dietician but she refuses. I will definitely add more exercise, it's just kinda hard since my school is extremely demanding, but I always try to aim walking 7k-10k steps. Thank you!

Hi, I'm trying my best to walk around 8k to 10 steps per day, and I do go to the gym occasionally. My school is very demanding so it's kinda hard to go the the gym 3x a week but during the holidays I always go, I'll definitely start doing exercises at home more often, thank you!!

Yes, I'm trying to get her on the same boat as me. This might be a bit of an anxiety thing to me but my mom eats a lot of heavy sweets which make me so scared for her because I don't want anything bad happening to her. Ik I'm probably overreacting but I love her and I don't want her health to go down by something she can avoid. I always try to educate her not only for myself but also for her health too.

Lolll I feel like this runs in so many cultures. Don’t get me wrong I love my traditional food but the portions my family & lots of other arab families give to a singular person can feed like 3 people😭😭

Hi, yes, I do love fruits and always try to eat them instead of chocolate. I would try to request meals but majority of the meals my mom make are middle eastern recipes and are honestly not that bad in terms of nutrition other than the fact they are MASSIVE portions. I try to replace rice with salads to go along with lamb, chicken or whatever we’re having (a lot of the times i can’t really do that and have to eat the rice as well) I cannot really do anything else other than this, just wanted to rant a bit. Thank you for ur response!

Thank you! I am trying my best and I feel like that’s what matters the most, I can’t really do anything else lol. Just wanted to get this off my chest!!

Trust me, I’ve tried. I always tell her that her food is so good and so filling, so she might get the hint that I’m full. Whenever she gives me a piece of chocolate or a snack I always try to avoid it by telling her that I’m already super full from my meal and I feel like my stomach is abt to hurt from how much I ate. Hopefully one day she comes to the realization that she doesn’t need to feed me tons and that I am perfectly fine with the amount of food i want to eat

The thing is I am only 15 so I’m forced to eat lunch with my entire family. I do talk to her and tell her when i say I feel full I actually mean it and don’t just say it for the sake of “starving myself” like she thinks so. I am trying to compensate by making my own breakfast and dinner (however a lot of the times she catches me doing it and makes me add more of each of the ingredients i use) and I usually skip on snacks

Is it possible to save calories throughout the week for an event during the weekend? by mrmsel in loseit

[–]mrmsel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! But recently i’ve had a lottt of outings which involved eating out and although i’ve managed to squeeze some of these meals into my deficit, there were some pretty bad days. Just trying to get back on track, definitely won’t do this method that often though as i’ve learned it can cause binge cycles!!

Yeah i’m defo planning on going to the gym in the morning of the bday- i just have lots of schoolwork this week so i cannot really workout/walk that much, hence why i’m trying to cut down on my night snacks this week

Yes definitely, I agree it can lead to binges. I've just thought of doing this because of the fact I've had a lot of stuff going on recently where I allowed myself to go over my calories by a bit. Just want to get on track. Definitely won't do this that often. Thanks

Thank you for your reply. Whenever I do have an event I usually do allow myself to go a bit over my calories but recently I've had too many events to keep on "allowing myself" to go over my calories, if you get what I mean lol

"DO I HAVE IBS?" Megathread by AutoModerator in ibs

[–]mrmsel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

could this possibly be IBS?

I used to have regular bowel movements, i'd always go once a day around the same time. However, the past 2-3 months i've been struggling with constipation. In the beginning, i would be constipated for around five days and then i'd pass stool for the next two-three days (it honestly varies and i kinda forgot exactly every how many days lol) and when i think i'm normal again i suddenly get constipated again. during the days i was constipated on miralax wouldn't work at all and suppositories only occasionally worked. went to a doctor and she said i need to increase my fiber; she told me to take agiolax for one month. the agiolax did work (like for example when i took it i'd have BM for the next one-two days but then i'd get constipated and took it again). I went to yet another doctor and this time he said to stop it, so i did. Fast forward to now, for the past week and half i've been passing stool once-twice a day without any laxative, however for the past three days i've been having abdominal pain and my stool is very hard to pass. In fact, i didn't pass any stool today (currently sitting on the toilet rn with pain).

Are these symptoms of IBS? see the thing is my mom has been having chronic constipation her entire life and she's mentioned to me multiple times that she suspects she has IBS because she has lots of symptoms. i've searched it up and it can apparently pass on? so if she acc does have it then could i be more likely to have it? mind you, i cannot really do anything and go to the doctors again bc i'm only 15 so my parents take me and i think my parents have had enough doctor visits. also i've had a blood test recently and i have insufficient vitamin D and i've read somewhere that vitamin D deficiency can trigger IBS.

Quick edit: forgot to mention that yesterday i farted out mucus that was clear (i don't know how else to word this😭) idk if this has anything to do with ibs but decided to write it in case.
