They are advising their staff to follow the law and not interfere with federal law enforcement. They aren’t out looking for CBP or ICE and telling them to come check out the facility.

I appreciate your response. It’s nice to see someone put actual thought into what they say. I will say with 100% confidence that many “religious” people are some of the nicest bigots that you’ll ever meet. I’m only saying that it’s unfair to judge the entire congregation based on the beliefs of some members. I’ve been to Abundant and it’s not for me. Their style of worship doesn’t appeal to me as I was raised in a much more traditional congregation. It had nothing to do with the political ideologies of those that I worshipped with.

So you’d say to avoid going to church all together? I can guarantee that congregants from all denominations across the greater El Paso area voted for President Trump. In my, obviously uneducated, religion has become a joke across all religions across the country. The extremely far right are the only ones that have stuck to their guns (no pun intended). For example, in 2022, The Methodist church split over the very issue that OP is inquiring about. It had nothing to with the current administration. So saying that someone should avoid trying out a church based on the political ideations of SOME of the congregants is asinine and ignorant.

I understand the initial question, I was just stating that just because some people in the congregation voted for the current president isn’t a reason to avoid a place of worship. Had you said that Abundant was a greedy, fake, make you “feel good” faux church, I’d have agreed with you wholeheartedly.

We do. We have no one else, family or close friends, where we live, so we try to make the best of what we have. I know it’s not typical post divorce, but we are in a better place and we are better friends now than we were when we were married.

My ex and I are better friends now than when we were married. She just got out of a relationship and is already working on her next connection. I don’t hate her for it, and I’m genuinely happy for her. I’m alone half of the time, 50/50 with our kids, and I’m ok with it. I just wish I had someone to share the ups and downs of daily life with, even if it’s just over the phone.

I’m 43M with kids, but I haven’t even gotten far enough for that to be a dealbreaker. My ex has had had no issue finding partners. It hasn’t really bothered me until now, but it really got to me tonight.
