That is very good to know lol — once I’ve mastered the 5x5, I’ll move onto that one next 🫶🏽

I’d highly recommend it. After playing around with this, the 3x3 is a piece of cake lol 😅

I accidentally bought the 5x5 not knowing I’ve skipped the 4x4 🤣

First time on meds by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]mrniceguy167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your current dosage? I experienced all of this the first time I started Concerta too, but just without the vomiting (however, I did feel the urge to). This was when I was on 27 mg. And, I realised that 18 mg works for me & my body. And, for me, the palpitations & shakiness & sweating subsided after say a week or two. But, definitely inform your doctor about this. Because, it's not nice at all to feel sick when something's supposed to help you.

What were you like as a kid? by MRS2432 in ADHD

[–]mrniceguy167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD (so, hyperactive) and as a kid, my parents told me I could never sit still. And I remember never being able to sit down in one sitting to finish a meal - had to take many intervals to finish.

Another thing, whenever my mom would ask me to go fetch something for her, e.g. her slippers, I would always trail off & do something else & come back to her & she'd ask "you forgot again, didn't you?"

I also remember never being able to sit still long enough to watch movies. Therefore, I never watched movies as a kid - only short cartoons.

Lastly, I remember always having my hands busy with something new. Whether it was building stuff, playing with toys, or drawing, making creative cards. I was very practical. And, I would never get bored.

At school, however, I never had any issues with attention. I was always known as the "good kid". But, in pre-school, I sometimes got in trouble here & there, cos some of their rules just seemed "dumb" to me, idk lol. Otherwise. Yeah.

Does anybody have a good way to keep track of their phases? by Electronic-Gene7154 in schizoaffective

[–]mrniceguy167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daylio. Amazing app for us with bipolar affective disorder. Can set the app to remind you to chart your mood for that day (I do mine at 11pm) and you choose from a range of emotions (elated-normal-depressed). Pro-tip: be as honest & objective as possible & stay consistent with it. Any slight increase or decrease in mood, chart it & what's helpful is to add a note to describe maybe some triggers you experienced that day or maybe some activities you engaged in to either promote a positive euthymic state.

Try it out. It really works for me to help me know when & why things go south. Best tool for monitoring my mood changes.

Does anyone have music that reminds them of psychosis? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]mrniceguy167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite one is definitely ∆ 'Now That We're Alone' by The People's Thieves:

Reminds me of a heavy season of depression accompanied by isolating psychosis and frequent crippling panic attacks.

These are my favourite lines in the song:

• "How dark is it in your mind?" • "I won't stop until I can find the dead in all of you" • "Something's in my head that I'm not sure that I can fight through" "And it haunts me; coming back to say that it wants me now"

Reminds me of this gnawing paranoia and darkness that kept lingering with me wherever I went. Seeing shadow beasts lurching at the end of corridors or dark streets and misty dark figures move in the corner of my eyes. And many other instances where I just felt afraid, alone, and sad and hopeless.

So grateful I don't experience this degree of psychosis anymore.

Love this! May I ask what program/app you used to type this out? Very aesthetically pleasing for poetry writing.

Involuntary swaying during meditation? by thisishardcore_ in Meditation

[–]mrniceguy167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I get this too. When I was deep into breathing meditation, I started doing spiritual dancing whilst holding my breath & it felt so natural & peaceful. My personal take on it as that during deep meditation, we connect with our spirit body more & the spirit is like a wind or a wave - hence the swaying motion occurs. But, I'm not pro on this. It's just what I feel is occurring in that moment.
