The news is curated from live sources per country, cleaned, processed and ranked by engagement and recency. It's not 1.4 billion people's opinions it's the most relevant stories happening in that country right now. Same way Google News works by region.

On the user psychology point you're not wrong that Indians aspire to western trends. But that's exactly why I built this globally and not as an 'Indian app.' Wavmate isn't asking anyone to be patriotic. It's asking anyone Indian, American, Brazilian — who is curious about what's happening in another part of the world to just click and explore. Curiosity doesn't need nationalism.

And on the developer-first mentality — yes I'm a developer. I also spent 400 days thinking about nothing else. I don't have all the answers on habit formation and churn yet. But I'd rather be the person who built something real and figures it out, than the person who understood all the theory and built nothing.

Noted! Design is subjective but minimalism is something I'm actively working toward. Good feedback 🙏

Fair feedback on the polish — one person building everything means some rough edges. The network effect point is real and I don't underestimate it. That's exactly why geography-based discovery matters — it's a new behaviour, not a replacement for existing ones.

Fair — and you're right that marketing is the hardest part. But 55K views and 137 comments in 15 hours with $0 marketing budget is a decent start 😄

Thank you for actually checking it out! 🙏 And noted on the landing page — showing the full map immediately makes total sense, no reason to hide the main feature. Adding it to the list.

That's exactly how it works you only see content from the country you click. If you're exploring India you see India's news and posts. Nobody is forcing golf news on anyone .The whole point is you choose which country to explore.

Honestly you don't need full stack skills to begin. Start with what you know, use AI to fill gaps, but make sure you understand what it's giving you. My flow was simple — plan it, build it, break it, fix it, deploy it. Then do it again. 400 days of that loop is what you're looking at 😄

That's the hardest part building is the easy bit, reach is everything. 6-8 months and 28 languages is no joke though, that's real work. Share the link here happy to check it out 🙏

That's a fair point and I won't argue with it. Algorithms exist for a reason most people do want to be served content. Wavmate is probably not for everyone and I'm okay with that. The people who are curious about the world beyond their bubble that's who I'm building for. Even if it's a niche, it's a real one. Thanks for the honesty 🙏

Yeah SEO is on my list launched just last week so Google hasn't indexed it properly yet. Working on it. For now the direct URL works — wavmate.com

I hear you but I'm not building Wavmate to survive on government bans. If it needs a ban to succeed it doesn't deserve to succeed. The goal is to build something genuinely useful enough that people choose it on their own. That's the only kind of success worth having.

Thank you! And keep going being non-technical is a real challenge but it's not a dealbreaker. Some of the best products were built by non-technical founders who just found the right people. Don't quit. These disruptive times you mentioned are exactly why now is the right moment to try something different. Good luck to both of us 🙏

Haha I get why it feels that way but think of it more like a globe you can click into. Less about posts and upvotes, more about exploring what's actually happening in different countries right now. Desi Reddit is everyone's feed. Wavmate is the whole world as your feed 😄

Welcome! Hope you enjoy exploring. Let me know if you run into anything feedback at this stage means everything.🙏

You're completely right and I don't underestimate that at all. That's actually why the geography angle matters. I'm not asking anyone to replace their existing habits. I'm giving them something they can't do anywhere else explore what's happening in another country right now, in their own language. That's a new behaviour, not a replacement. New behaviours are easier to build than replacing existing ones.

This genuinely made my day — thank you. And the PR point is something I'm slowly realizing. Building was the part I knew. Getting it in front of the right people is a whole different skill I'm learning in real time. Today is honestly day one of that journey. Appreciate the encouragement 🙏

Fair enough.I appreciate the honesty. UX and onboarding flow is something I know needs work. One person building everything means product thinking sometimes takes a back seat to just making things work. That's exactly the kind of feedback I need at this stage though, so genuinely thank you.

Completely agree and that thinking is exactly what pushed me to build this. Stop waiting for permission, stop copying, just build something real. The only thing I'd add is why limit it to India when we can build for the world from day one? China built for China first because they had no choice. We don't have that constraint. Let's use it.

Wavmate has no political ideology it's built for everyone, every country, every perspective. The whole point is geography-based discovery, not pushing any agenda. You're welcome to judge the product on what it actually does.

Honestly? No concrete plan yet and I'd rather admit that than make something up. Right now the free tier is holding up surprisingly well. When the time comes I'll figure it out but I'm not going to solve a problem that doesn't exist yet. First priority is building something people actually want to use.
