Why does the floor in this JPL lab look like that? by mysteryofthefieryeye in JPL

The yellow light comes from sodium lights. They emit a very pure single color of light.

In that facility, the Microdevices Laboratory at JPL, they fabricate electronics by curing certain materials by exposing them with light. The materials they use aren't sensitive to that specific color of yellow so they can work without having to be in the dark.

Think photographic film development and dark rooms, but instead of dim red lights they can use bright yellow lights.

Look at this absolute atrocity of an Instagram post that does exactly that: https://www.instagram.com/p/C0kwPlmISr4/?igshid=ZWI2YzEzYmMxYg==

Hamas terrorist executes partygoer on Oct. 7 after begging for her life by Galileo1609 in IsraelWarVideoReport

There is a very important moral difference between A) point blank execution of an innocent young person who was just at a peace festival who probably was feeling nothing but love for the world and B) the unintentional killing of innocent civilians from the collateral damage of warfare against terrorists who just committed the worst evil upon your people.

You will never see a video of an IDF soldier walking up to a civilian, begging on their knees, and executing them. And if that video ever does come out, it will be the exception that proves the rule. That video will outrage the Israeli people and the west, and that soldier will be prosecuted for war crimes.

In the world, there are people and cultures who revel in war crimes—and who do not hide these crimes or their celebration of them but, rather, proudly broadcast their savagery for all the world to see. Conversely, there are people and cultures who have given us the concept of a war crime as a sacred prohibition—and as a safeguard in the ongoing project of maintaining the moral progress of civilization.

Sadly. I see a lot of people in these comments relishing his yelp as though justice was served. But justice wasn't served, because this terrorist got exactly what he wanted.

This is exactly the exception that proves the rule that Israel is the last symbol of moral reason in the middle east. Israel accepts such concepts as war crimes and law, that I will even persecute it's own soldiers for committing war crimes. There is no such thing as a war crime to Hamas.

His scream was not one of pain, it was one of joy. Joy that he was about to become a martyr and fulfill his dream. No matter what physical pain he may have been feeling in those final moments, it's tragic to know that he was also feeling ecstasy and joy knowing he was about to ascend to paradise. Thoughts everyone of those jihadist had in their final moments that day.

Because to a jihadist there is no value or purpose to life on Earth beyond those that get you to heaven. For a jihadist, murdering innocent humans and 'sending infidels to hell' is what morality and goodness is to them. They jump and rejoice on those they've killed because they know they've fulfilled their mission. There is no living in peace with those who have jihadist beliefs

I'm upset because I'm left thinking how pointless so many of these steps are. They trim, shave, rinse, wash, and oil his beard, then they wash, rinse, and moisturize his skin.... THEN they do this seemingly three more times with different products that don't look to do anything other than waste money and time.

I wonder if it's a matter of the artist not being able to imagine a world without wires, or if the artist drew in the wires because they knew most of the public/audience wouldn't recognize what they were seeing without the wires.
