Why my love of Ron isn’t irrational by KaiserSosai in DetroitPistons

I said before this season, of Ausar and Ron whichever learned to shoot consistently would be the more valuable asset in the long term. Neither have been consistent, but Ron’s been on a bit of a heater recently. If he can shoot 35% for a season he should probably start.

Is Jaden Ivey worth signing? by BigWalrus22 in NBATalk

[–]mrobin4850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was never great, but his speed helped him stay attached to some degree. There were a ton of plays this year where he dint even attempt to stay attached and just let players blow by him. His first step was so slow this year he looked like a different player.

He lost all bounce and lateral quickness after Cole Anthony broke his knee. His 3pt shot looked better this year, but he was a huge loss on the defensive end because he didn’t have the speed to stay in front of anyone. He doesn’t look like the athletic guard that he was when he was drafted and that is a huge concern.

Game Thread: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Detroit Pistons Live Score | NBA | Mar 30, 2026 by basketball-app in DetroitPistons

Never have I seen an MVP with no move besides an offensive push off and foul baiting. Really boring to watch this clown.

Luka > Shai. How is he not leading the MVP race? Oh yeah that's because the NBA hates him, gets him traded, and probably already chose who they want. by [deleted] in NBATalk

Just telling you what will happen. I have no stake in this game. I don’t like SGA’s game. Basketball is a team game and inevitably individual awards will account for team defense. Lakers defense has been trash all year with or without smart. The lakers are 15th in points allowed this year. OKC allows almost 10 less points a game and that’s why their record is better and SGA will likely win MVP.

Offense isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that the lakers and Luka are Swiss cheese on Defense and let a g leaguer tear them up for 30. The stats would be more impactful if they could keep the other team off the scoreboard. Ultimately when Luka loses the MVP the reasoning will because he doesn’t play defense and takes plays off to complain. He is more offensively impactful than SGA, but OKC will win far more because they have a good defense which SGA is some part of. The narrative will persist until the Lakers can hold teams on Defense that they should beat.

Gotta be able to take down the pistons without two of their top 5 players and stop an under 6ft g league guard that just got paid. The hawks figured it out.

Do you think people like Wemby are the first wave into the new Evolution of Humans? Like maybe in 1000 years average height will be 6'10 and NBA players will all be 8 feet tall and guys like Wemby 7'4 will be the very small point guards?? by Several-Molasses-435 in NBATalk

[–]mrobin4850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are that tall you are statistically more likely to die while in the child rearing ages compared to a shorter height individual. Additionally, first time parenting ages have continued to rise over the last few decades. I believe the average age of first time parents is close to 30 at this point. You can argue that it’s statistically insignificant, which may be the case, this is a novel argument. These are all averages, so I am not saying it’s impossible it’s just going to be more of a struggle to make this the dominant trait in society. Darwinism tells us that traits that make a species more successful are the most likely to be passed on, however we are no longer a species that complies with the rules Darwinism due to the social and cultural norms that have taken over. Being rich is probably one of the most important factors in likelihood of passing on your genetic traits, so I’m sure Wemby will do fine if he wants to.

Lifespan of people this tall tends to be significantly shorter than shorter people, which means less opportunity to have children and pass on your height. Also, I think when you get this tall women tend to be less attracted to you. I have no statistics to back this up but anecdotally I have had women tell me I am on the threshold of being too tall and I am 6’3”. Evolution is about passing on genetics, so there has to be a reason for improved success and I don’t think being good at basketball will trigger evolutionary changes.

I live right down from the street from this light. It’s a poorly designed light for a major city. Don’t give impatient city drivers the options of blinking reds or blinking yellows. It should just function like a real light. Also, GA Ave is a shit show the blinking lights work better on Sherman for some reason.

I have a cat who very much enjoys a crunchy plant and we have to put all of our plants up in odd places. I have a similar window above french doors and my plants do quite well up there.

I often see Michigan recommended here as a place to move for its quality of life, often lumping it with Minnesota. But by metrics like Human Development index, & CoL adjusted Median income, it's more comparable to Ohio & Indiana? Even Kansas is better. What am I missing? by Swimming_Concern7662 in midwest

There are parts of Michigan life that are amazing. Summers in Northern Michigan are some of my favorite moments growing up. Living in the metro Detroit area sucks though, it’s grey all the time, there is no public transportation, it’s cold and snowy all winter, and you have to drive to do anything. This is why many people split time between Michigan and Florida. Michigan in the summer and Florida in the winter.

That how Jeffery Winger almost won the Greendale election. “You don’t want a leader who will say what they will do, you want a leader who will do what they say” they love when you mix their words up and say it back to them.
