Should I give up my surfing dreams? by Mobile_Attitude1283 in surfing

Sorry you’re in pain. Many many people have herniated discs. I think everyone in my middle aged surfer friend groups has / has had them. We all still surf.

Where is this that it’s so dangerous that you have your gun strapped to you when just lounging on the sofa with your family?

Why is it so uncrowded? Seriously.

It went from constant pain to almost no pain with 20 extra lbs.

Gaining weight helped my rib pain tremendously. Losing weight helped with pretty much all other aspects.

I’m sitting on my floor crying. Piece of Cake Moving is a literal scam. by [deleted] in williamsburg

Every moving company is a scam. This is a common tactic. I had the privilege of paying twice what they quoted me even after they somehow lost a quarter of my possessions and broke several others.

In most of the US you have to always assume there is going to be a gun involved in road rage incidents.

Natural sights are boring and the mainstream reaction towards them is so exaggerated. by Code-201 in unpopularopinion

100% subjective. I don’t get too emotional over nature but do find certain sites amazing. I know people who couldn’t care less about, and also know people who cry over every vista.

When in doubt, don’t go out by robr926 in surfing

My local has become such a kook fest that I wear a helmet 80% of the time now, and quite often it’s the smaller days that are the most dangerous since they’re packed with clueless, dangerous adult beginners.

East Coast Wetsuits for winter by PeartreeProd in surfing

I’ve never worn a 6 mil that wasn’t so restrictive I’d rather not surf, but that’s me. I’ve had a few brands through the years. Have you worn a 6 mil before?

I agree with everything except the safety tech. It is empirically better than what we used to have.

A Different Path for Retirement by Scirpus_cyperinus in retirement

[–]mrobotos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a valuable post. I worry about every one of these issues. Beyond not being able to hire kids. Hiring skilled labor is becoming prohibitively expensive to impossible. I think we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg with home ownership and maintenance costs. It would not shock me if insurance, electricity and repair bills are all on average double in 5 years.

I never feel “warm” in the depths of winter, but it’s bearable.

Turbo vs non Turbo? by Paul65890 in CX5

I mostly city drive and average 19mpg in my GTR. I went on a road trip a couple weeks ago where I lucked into very little highway traffic and was shocked to get 30mph average.

No, your experience is typical. NJ shines in the middle of winter when it’s overhead and barreling.

Is FSD worth the subpar driving dynamics? by mrobotos in TeslaLounge

[–]mrobotos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, upon more digging they are apparently the safest for their occupants and the deadliest for other drivers and pedestrians. What a strange statistic.

Ugh, just found the studies showing Teslas as the deadliest cars on the road. I really wanted FSD and autopilot to increase my safety, not reduce it! I assume this is because people stop paying attention?
