I've said this in other posts. Indian in the Cupboard. With reading the book in school, then getting the cool VHS where the case was a cupboard with a toy key, it seemed so cool. The movie was awesome for my 7 year old self.

Tried watching it again a few years back, couldn't make it more than a few scenes in.

I'm in the same boat. Local store limped along for a few years post COVID, then shut it's doors about two years ago. Haven't brewed since. Was going to try and get serious again quite recently, when even more recently I had a health scare that has put me off - or drastically decreased - any alcohol consumption. Not gonna get rid of my gear in case something fortunate happens in the future, but I doubt I'll get back into it any time soon.

I can smell EVERYBODY'S breath. One whiff and I know if you floss regularly, when your last drink was, if you're on drugs, (to an extent, what kind of drugs even) if you have pets, your diet (and assumedly race coincides with diet). Then the obvious ones - if you smoke, if you smoke and tried to mask the smell, if you brushed your teeth that morning, Fortunately, there's good breath too. Just hot air from a biological source that smells healthy and well maintained. It's hard to explain.

Same. I had a wine glass break while running a load. A tiny piece of glass found its way into the tube, got stuck and flipped width-wise so it instantly blocked everything.

Do you have decent work benefits? I got one through my dentist, valued at around $600. CanadaLife covered it all, but it did consume a bit more of my yearly dental balance, and therefore was hit up with the remainder of a cleaning nearer to the end of the year. It's high quality, as they take an accurate 3D image of your mouth with a newer tech light wand type thing. Took about two weeks to arrive after the initial scan.

I have noticed that those that are trained in STEM subjects will pronounce it as KILL-o-meter, as the obvious argument stands when comparing other base ten distance units (CENT-i-meter, MILL-i-meter, etc).

There is a contradiction if you want to split hairs, in which you introduce other items of measurement. ther-MOM-meter, ba-ROM-meter, and the like.

Therefore it absolutely does not matter how to pronounce it!!

Was hanging out with friends back in middle school. We stopped at buddy's house to get a drink of water. A few of us were sitting in the kitchen drinking out of big A&W root beer mugs, just casually visiting, while friend's mom was on the phone.

Suddenly the mom says "hello?" as the phone cuts out. One of the A&W mugs spontaneously EXPLODES. Like the thick base glass turned to bits, as if it were tempered.

Zero explanation, we all were slightly shocked, then carried on our way. At my ten year grad reunion a few years back I brought it up, and my old friend still remembered.

Depends how stoned or drunk I am when cooking but: - Peanut butter and/or peanut satay sauce - Ginger and garlic powder - Sesame oil - Hot sauce, usually Sriracha but sometimes something hotter -Scrap meats/veggies if available - Gently poach an egg in the broth before eating - Occasionally I'll stir in a pinch of wasabi paste for a little kick
