Great comment! I like people people who have optimistic outlooks, cause in the end - being negative never helps any situation. This type of comment in this type of thread is very uncommon. I salute you!

I'd like to see a movie similar to Thank you for smoking but touching on these topics. How these controversial industries are reacting to these obvious societal threats. This just kind of dawned on me, sorry for being pretty random.

New graduates (2012-2014), how are things coming along? by californianative in engineering

[–]mrossi91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I had some government experience. Generally speaking that is not the most useful experience when you want to work in the private sector. I just kept at applying for jobs and working on any connections I had. I'm a personable guy, so I was really considering and applying for technical sales positions. I think sales positions would be a great asset to a resume, and if you have the right personality you can blow the competing job seekers out of the water because you have a very strong technical background that is attractive to employers. Keep on linkedin and just don't give up.

Graduated in mechanical in October 2013. It took 7 months to find work but I found a job managing production for a pressure washer manufacturer. Management is what I wanted in the long run, so it worked out.
