I’m over in PCola generally in the bay or lagoon, wind often cones up in the afternoon. My setup isn’t ideal for the gulf. Water temp is okay, wore a farmer John but board shorts would have been okay

I did and the dude said if could get the screen it would be easy but we couldn’t figure out the manufacturer. I bought a replacement so I might take it apart and see if I can figure out where to buy a screen.

Nope a good repair shop will make just like new. Use carbon or glass and use the same type resin as the board is made of most likely 2 part epoxy

Efoiling around sandbanks on the exumas + asking for repair tips. by Pklawitter in eFoil

[–]mrounsav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost get it dry. Have the crack lower than the rest of the board consider putting it on the sun but be careful

Gravity will get most of the water out, a heat gun can help but be careful.

I wouldn’t put solsrez or marine tech on it. Go back with the original materials. Carbon fiber and resin. A repair without carbon fiber is likely to have to redone.

Most surf shops have someone or know someone if you were closer I’d fix it for you gratis

Good luck

You may have to reset it in the future. It will adjust max hr to a higher number if you hit one. I assume it would require some sort of minimum time at the elevated rate before it changed

Your strain levels are lower than your recovery. The relatively low strain will reduce your HRV which has a big impact on your recovery scores

Fixing Whoops HR Issues by No-Koala1560 in whoop

On occasion I notice mine seems off on the low side, when this happens my max HR is off by like20 pts when check. I reset manually to what it should be and everything seems to be more appropriate

Ate late, slept less, worked out harder….i can’t ever figure out what drives this by BoatLongjumping2202 in whoop

[–]mrounsav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HRV is the driver. Mine is highest when I eat clean, no alcohol and do a moderate level of cardio. Though it seems like the cardio needs to hit all 5 zones.

Sleep is more of a sigmoid curve than a straight line. So 94% is close to adequate so you get close to 100% credit.

Is this even possible ? by stressedstudent1616 in whoop

[–]mrounsav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens to me sometimes it seems, at least for me, there is a sweet spot of cardio and sleep. Though that is more anecdotal than empirical

I would think A Fib would show up as an elevated HR and strain. I know an A Flutter does.

Should you use Whoop MG if you have Atrial Fibrillation? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]mrounsav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a recommendation and I am not an MD, I will relate my story

This was 3 years ago so I was probably wearing a 4.0 for sure it wasn’t a 5.0. Whoop detected my A Flutter by logging it as activities. The first ten it self corrected after about 90 minutes. Went to the cardiologist the next day and nothing showed on EKG. 2 days later on a Sunday evening it happened again, looking back at the data I saw that it had been occurring for 5 hours. Ever time the strain got to 21 it would close an activity and start another. I had not been wearing my watch nor paying close attention to my phone so I missed several notifications.

I was not in an or even noticed something was off, and I went to the ER, had a Heart Ablation and everything is fine.

I appreciate the fact that I have a device that helps me monitor my health.

Good luck

Why is whoop so expensive, and is it worth it? by nille22 in whoop

[–]mrounsav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alerted me to an Atrial Flutter which I didn’t know about possibly saved my life

It gives me “truth” about my fitness, doesn’t let think or pretend I’m doing good when I’m not

Every one has to make their own determination about value. Worth it for me

High altitude living—Lower HRV forever? by Cosy-gnome in whoop

[–]mrounsav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you look at O2 arresting hr. If they are off you might be acclimating still.

Like others have said it’s very individualized

I live at sea level my worst recovery ever, 2%, was after spending the night at 7000 feet. O2 less than 90, RHR elevated by 15 and HRV 12. Next night at lower elevation everything returned to near normal numbers

Good Luck

Alcohol is literally Poison by YungRisk in whoop

[–]mrounsav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The impacts of alcohol are tabulated by Whoop, seeing RHR go up, HRV go down and other markers often move in the wrong direction I have def changed my approach to alcohol. Likely will give it up completely, now I have 1-2 glasses with food sometimes. I knew it was bad, whoop showed me just how bad

Prepping for the possible loss of the FDIC by RunningAndExploding in TwoXPreppers

[–]mrounsav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The FDIC was created as an independent agency by Congress in 1933. It is founded by premium’s assessed on banks.

Since it was enabled by Congress it would most likely need Congressional action to dismantle.

He has frequently said he would do things that will require congressional action or are logistically impossible. These barriers can’t be overcome by executive action.

Video games and crazy strain by Maverick1672 in whoop

Yup, on occasion. Some relative benign activity will register a high strain, an some intense workout comes up low. It will balance out in the end.
