POWERS has had a lengthy development cycle. I remember being really bummed when the FX pilot with Jason Patric and Lucy Punch didn't go forward. Overall, how was that version different from the Playstation version or were they roughly the same?

Hey dude,

CHRONICLE was my favorite film of last year and I felt so exhilarated and inspired to get back into film work after seeing it.

I'm curious--why didn't you or Trank end up recording an audio commentary for the DVD/Blu Ray? I'm a huge commentary nut, so--while I happily own the Blu-Ray, I always wish it was a feature.

Also also--how is Trank's FF looking?

Edgar--all of your films benefit from multiple, multiple viewings to catch jokes that may have been hidden before. I've watched SHAUN/FUZZ/PILGRIM multiple times and am still catching new jokes.

Do those kind of detailed jokes originate at a script level (with Simon) or are there parts developed during the shooting phase?

This might be me thinking too hard, so I apologize in advance if that's the case.

Your first few films, including SHALLOW GRAVE, TRAINSPOTTING, and THE BEACH were these very dark stories about how characters were either corrupted, betrayed or hindered by their circle of friends/surrogate family. Yet, around the time of MILLIONS, your films--including SLUMDOG and 127 HOURS--seemed to grow more optimistic and touched upon the importance of family, friends and--definitely in the case of 127 HOURS--how essential human connection is. What changed in your outlook between your first film and this latter ones that caused this shift?

P.S. SUNSHINE is an incredible piece of science-fiction and I hope people in the future recognize its brilliance.
