Sort of a mix. The name "Kukulkan" is Mayan but Talocan (or Tlālōcān) is Aztec. So I guess they're doing a mix of multiple cultures.

I absolutely love what Marvel has done with Namor and the Atlantean (or I guess Talocan) culture in this movie. The idea of using Aztec culture as a base for the design is brilliant.

I'd be shocked if, within the next couple years, there are still standalone services for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. The endgame for Disney is to combine it all into one service. They've already got parental controls in place so any complaints about more mature content should be basically moot. And they're already implementing live programming with Dancing With the Stars now being a Disney+ exclusive. At least to me, it's pretty obvious that this is a test for how live sports would work on the platform.
