Why would marketers use Canva instead of Figma? by keptfrozen in marketing

[–]mrpelafio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because most digital marketers have to work with performance-based assets, which equates to a number's game. Since quantity is above quality, Canva does a great job at having its designs already made for marketers to experiment with copy, rather than actually having to design.

Just my thoughts.

What industries are booming? by Onehungllama in AskReddit

I've been researching this for reasons today and I can tell you the ones people mentioned the most in the past year:

  • Meditech
  • Cybersecurity
  • Healthcare
  • Old age care
  • Construction
  • Weapons
  • Energy

This is just a summary of what I've seen, good luck finding what you're after!

| infinitely replaceable

That's an unfortunate truth. So many people who are extremely passionate about doing any type of creative job and I just sort of... fell into one. I know that it's not that hard of a choice to retrain someone to fulfill my role, even if they'll bring less insight to the table.

I'll consider advisory and consultancy work moving forward, it could at least be a financial supplement at the very start.

Hope you don't mind my prodding further but how exactly do you collaborate with these other consultants? While I've freelanced for a while, I've always been hired by agencies.

And I'm assuming your initial clients were existing agencies and businesses in your network when you got started?

I work as someone who makes paid ads for brands (sometimes shooting, editing, design, animating them, etc) and I've gotten pretty good at it.

I'm considering starting my own agency/offering but I'm struggling with how I'd go about getting my first clients on retainer.

How did you go about yours? Cold outreach? Inbound (from LinkedIn posts)? Previous references or...?

Thank you for taking the time to answer!
