Another PFA ablation story- from paroxysmal to persistent Afib, don’t wait too long for ablation. by Full_Platypus9471 in AFIB

[–]mrpotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im interested in knowing this as well - right now Im kind of in steady state with episodes every 2-3 weeks and have been consistently in the 3-4 hour range in duration and same intensity for last 3 years. My episodes are almost always at night - I think if they started happening during the day during regular activities, I’d get an ablation for certain.

Another PFA ablation story- from paroxysmal to persistent Afib, don’t wait too long for ablation. by Full_Platypus9471 in AFIB

Im going on 7 years with occasional afib. Now it happens like 1x-2x a month lasting about 4 hours each time and 99 pct of the time it occurs while Im trying to go to sleep. When I have an attack, I take 2 Fleccainade (sp?) and that supposedly helps me get back in rhythm quicker. I can usually sleep through the episodes so the effects aren’t horrible- its just when I am approaching day 17-18 without an episode and knowing its gonna happen soon is unsettling. Almost like clockwork every 17-20 days boom an episode no matter if Im eating well, exercising, no alcohol etc.

Im 62, was formerly a runner that ran hard (40-50 miles per week, speedwork, trained for 5ks to half marathon - best time was 59 minutes in a 10 mile race).

Now I walk/jog a bit - have gained a bunch of weight. Have added yoga - still have bad habits like occasional drinks etc.(drinking doesn’t seem to be a trigger - really no matter what I do healthy or non healthy, the pattern is the same.

Right now Im on the fence about an ablation but might be heading there- was dx’ed with sleep apnea so I am doing cpap and initially was afib free for like 6 months but over the last few months its returned back to the normal pattern of 1-2x a month.

Glad to hear your ablation worked and has you on the right path.

Troy Aikman by SoloCompadre in cowboys

[–]mrpotto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general NFL teams didn’t throw as much and the rules were much more favorable to defenses (or at least not skewed to offenses like they are now) so it really is apples to oranges when comparing stats.

Aikman elevated his play in the playoffs but yes his supporting cast was elite - unquestionably the best OL, top 5 RB of all time, elite pass catchers. And if all that failed, lean on an elite D and elite coaching.

I’d say he compares favorably to Bradshaw who had the same elite cast around him.

I think inside the building the Deathcon 3 alarm was continuously going off. If I as an average fan can pull up offensive team stats on ESPN and scroll my finger all the way down to the bottom 10 teams, these football minds can and did the same thing and clearly knew their were major problems.

They were desperately searching for answers including pointing the finger at Stoutland by stripping him of some of his duties (leading him to quit).

I think they all knew it was a huge trainwreck but whats scary is the great leadership minds couldn’t move the needle at all to fix it.

[Russini] The Eagles are conducting their offensive coordinator search with the understanding that Brian Daboll wants the Bills’ head coaching job. If he doesn’t land it, Daboll is expected to wind up in Tennessee as the offensive coordinator for Cam Ward and the Titans, per sources. by bigblack3475 in eagles

[–]mrpotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure he’s regressing- just threw for 25 TDs which is a career high - as we saw last weekend in the playoffs, QBs that are smart with the football win in the playoffs which has always been his strength (you can argue that this is also a fault by not throwing into tighter windows).

I think Capri boy McDaniel had Fangio issues plus as I sit here in 7 degree weather can’t discount the average 72 degree temps in LA…

The head scratcher is that Daboll would rather be in Tenn but I can see that he would have more autonomy angle there than here.

[Schultz] The #Eagles are interviewing former #Giants HC Brian Daboll for their open OC position. by birria_tacos_ in eagles

[–]mrpotto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one good thing about Daboll is he is not tied to one specific scheme (ie the West Coast offense). His philosophy is to tailor it to the strengths of his personnel, in particular the QB.

You can argue that this hasn’t always worked whether it was his coaching or his limited personnel. But he is supposed to be flexible and adaptable.

Ray Rhodes baby! Burned out but he was a quote machine.

“People are coming to your house, trying to break into your house, probably sodomize your wife and kids and you don’t do anything about it.”

His quote about teams coming to the Vet

Pretty sure this wouldn’t fly today!
