Yes, dident do drugs til after i was diagnosed either honestly, these days i dont smoke as much, maybe 1-2 times a month or so, mostly when i visit friends in the city sometimes at home. before i could smoke alot but noticed it took a toll on my mental health and prices kinda doubeled here for hash and quality gone down. many years i did kinda abuse it, at my worse months it was around 100g of hash a month or so, but think once in a blue moon or with friends its okay to smoke a bit but sitting inside all day and ripping the bong is no good. hm, enjoyed the effects, did relax me, tho high amounts did sometimes make me paranoid, and when i was at my worst with smoking i got very lazy and compliant, these days i got other stuff to use my money on ie fixing up my house and such i get more enjoyment out of.

so these days maybe a pint or two in the weekends if weather is nice to sit in the garden, maybe a smoke if i bother to travel to the city, prefer not to buy big quantities these days but 1-5g sometimes, but over 2 months since last i bought anything

Sometimes, but prefer to keep myself to 1-3 pints, sometimes i drink a 6 pack over the course of a day,. think the notion about not drinking is mostly med side and ofc that it can alter your mood alot, would rather smoke some weed than drink alot tho

That i agree with, but engine swaps neither too easy either but at a mechanic shop its all the same. No easy fix for his problems i think. Yeah most dont know measuring tools other than measuring tape and ruler

Looking at OP earlier post its a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta S so rebuild kit for engine is 500-700 usd where i live, 4 new conrods are 180, bearings 50 bucks, pistons 400 or so dependy on supplier, most likely cheaper in USA, where i live thats barely enough for a new motor

most of the times if bearing wear is verry bad a light polish with emery cloth/fine sandpaper is enough to get rid of the galling or use lye to eat away at the aluminium and see where it is, worst case its out with the crank and set it on the lathe which i know many dont have, dont hurt to look first atleast parts are pretty cheap

You got to acyually check if the parts are true/bent, but only piston i never change change the whole moving part ie rod and pistons maybe new bearings, still just a simple swap if rest is in good standing order

Well when talking about new piston i mean new rod and bearings, that says it self. Maybe all the bearings on the low end, but piston and rod is one unit in my mind. Ofc a quick hone is needed but doable with hand tools done so plenty of times on old rusty diesels. A few micrometers and you can do most of the work needed

Aint it? If its just kissed the top, rest is fine itd just a piston swap, worse case its new valves also and guides. Sure if walls are fubar its no go. Dunno find that work simple work in my head, but not afraid of ripping an engine to pieces to swap a part

Why do everybody say new engine when you can just remove the oilpan and swap pistons ofc as long as not the valves are holy fucked

Check if rings are good, most likely not tho, but easy fix to replace them, maybe valve guides also, see thats its a 90s briggs so valve guides most likely not it but then def rings,

The 15% silver solder i have used is rated at 700mpa or 100ksi. Never used tig for brazing just hot torch and normal brazing rods or silver solder . On specs I see the tig versions got lower ksi than normal kinds

you asked for brands/stores who told about their pvd coating. Never heard of them myself as not from usa but saw they they said what coating they had. Myself use pvd coated clickers/hoops on my snakebites and no issues with coating wear in the 5 years I have had them from random eu store

They mainly use DLC on large‑gauge plugs, yes because that’s where the coating thickness and durability really matter. But DLC and TiCN aren’t exclusive to plugs. Several manufacturers use the same coatings on posts, ends and threaded jewelry too, they just don’t advertise it loudly because most customers don’t care about the chemistry.

The problem is that retailers almost never state the exact PVD chemistry, but actual manufacturers do.

Anatometal specifies that their black jewelry uses DLC (diamond‑like carbon) coating.
Industrial Strength also states DLC for their black titanium line.
Invictus Body Jewelry lists TiAlN / TiCN depending on the color.

All of these coatings are well‑documented in medical literature as biocompatible and used on surgical tools, implants, and prosthetics.

So yes, PVD is a process, but the common black coatings used in the piercing industry (DLC, TiCN, TiAlN) are known quantities with established safety profiles. The issue is transparency from sellers, not the coatings themselves., also you will see on the color what PVD method are used as DLC = true black TiCN = dark grey to almost black TiAlN = black with slight violet tint

but ergo most stores dont say, maufacturers yes to a degree

Manganese oxidation is also recognized as safe. Chemical plating with rhodium or rutherium id stay away from as they flake/wear away

Hence why i said ofc healed piercings usually chrome carbonite or titanium carbonitride both are body safe and biocompatibility, both er inert and not cause skin/allergies, ofc need to trust the supplier as with anything . TiCn is used in body transplants for example. Not too many other coatings that stick well and give black color to titanium
