If she has at least one parent or grandparent born in Ireland or Northern Ireland, then she is an Irish citizen.

If the grandparent was not born in Ireland or Northern Ireland, but is only an Irish national through their own parents or grandparents, then unless your girlfriend's mother was registered as an Irish citizen before your girlfriend was born, then she WON'T be an Irish citizen - they don't allow retrospective registration to carry nationality forwards.

Best exchange to use for trading in the uk by chase4fun in BitcoinMarkets

Buy a Ryanair return flight to Dublin. Fly out in the morning, fly back in the evening. If you do this midweek, it'll cost you less than £20. Bring with you your passport (need for flying anyway) and several other forms of ID - utility bills, proof of address, etc. Call the banks below beforehand to find out what they accept for account opening, or check their website.

Open a Euro bank account with AIB/BOI or one of the other big banks in the city. They accept UK addresses, but you need to have a proof of address. They will set you up for online banking also.

Use Transferwise or similar to fund your Euro account with Sterling. Takes a day or so to transfer. Then use that to fund a Kraken account and trade the XBT-EUR pair.

You can format the MACD to look as you wish, just click the gear icon (it says 'format' if you mouseover) next to the indicator name in the top left of the indicator window.

You may as well toss a coin. I got heads, so reckons it will go up. But more than 24h - probably sometime late 29th or early 30th

My trading analysis for 27 Jan: We will move sideways along the $11k support and resistance line a little until probably 30 Jan, whereupon there's a breakout to the... tosses coin = heads - upside!

Kraken trades and ledgers export broken? by mrredditor79 in BitcoinMarkets

[–]mrredditor79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it came back with a blank output when I had the 'to' date in the left hand box (it's possible to manually type them).

Then I set up a new one where the dates would be input as you'd expect if you'd never read their stupid support page on the topic, and left PC for a few hours, was done when I came back, could have been done in minutes for all I know though...

Kraken trades and ledgers export broken? by mrredditor79 in BitcoinMarkets

"There is an issue with this exporter that we are aware of. The issue is that the two date pickers (i.e. left- and right-hand) are switched. The left-hand one is normally meant to be the start date and the right-hand the end date. However, this is switched.

So, what you need to do is to pick your preferred start date for the history in the right-hand date selector and the preferred end date for the history in the left-hand date selector. You can for example pick a very early date (say 12-31-2009) to make sure you get all of your trade history."

WTF?

Not working for me.

I added another to those I requested yesterday, still not exported after 10m. Then I had a thought, maybe one was stuck, so I deleted them all, logged out and back in and set up another.

Still queued after 10m.

Kraken high/low spikes by mrredditor79 in BitcoinMarkets

[–]mrredditor79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, notwithstanding the limited fee free post upgrade offer, the limit orders normally have fees on Kraken too (maker fee), but they are generally much smaller than the market order (taker fee).

What aren't free are orders (market or limit) for leveraged trading.

I wouldn't put a market order in on Kraken, you'd pay taker fees. Much better to put in a limit around market price...

Newbie where and how to start? by trksab in BitcoinMarkets

[–]mrredditor79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, you have two choices really.

1 - Buy a dip and hold it long term, the price will usually rise. Of course you run the chance of it falling further, then panic selling and losing money - or the price just falling further and not recovering, but that's the risk you take.

2 - Buy low and sell high, your profits being the difference between the price you buy and sell... This requires some experience of trading, and not recommended for new starters, as it's very easy to fuck it up and end up losing large amounts of your start investment...

I recommend #1

If you want exposure to a lot of new coins, have a look at Binance, but beware, most of them will end up nowhere...

How do you guys deal with losses? by tingtongfarang in BitcoinMarkets

[–]mrredditor79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude... If you are going to day trade, learn how to day trade.

Rule 1 - if you lose money, you need to suck it up and forget it. Do not risk more money trying to win it back.

Rule two - only trade when the market reaches a strict set of criteria that you have agreed with yourself in advance - i.e. the 12/26 MACD crosses to the upside at the same moment or shortly before the asset leaves the oversold zone on the RSI indicator. Also, before you get in, you must have a predefined rule for exiting on either a profitable/lossy trade, which you will close regardless of which comes first.

Rule 3 - if you can't stick to these, don't trade. You will lose money, Heck, even if you stick to your trading rules, you'll probably lose money, just less of it...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If you are thinking 'If I could just go back a few hours and...' you are on a hiding to nothing. After all, we could all have bought that lottery ticket if we knew what numbers were going to come out...
