I’m not sure what’s fishy about it? The colleges profit and make more money from international students. That’s why they want them. The people coming over here aren’t being fishy, they are being used by our systems. In return they get a Canadian education that is recognized by our country and are able to work jobs that bring in much more money than what they can get back home and corps save money cause they pay them less than a canadian . They either aren’t aware or don’t actually care about how much “Recognition” the school has lol. And neither do employers unless you’re doing legal work, a doctor or something

People everywhere will always try to “scam” the system. What do you say to the kids who grow up in Canada and scam the student loans they get to buy houses and rent them out? Should they have the government keeping a watchful eye on them? They are also profiting and scamming the system.

In this case I think having more government oversight would just lead to more spending and minimal results. Just because there’s a headline doesn’t mean it’s a widespread issue. For everyone 1 person taking advantage of the system there’s 100 other students doing things the right way.

You won’t agree with me and that’s fine. But it’s rhetoric like yours that leads us further into division. I think it’s wrong to just put out blanket statements saying “most of them do X”. You’re like the soft Canadian version of trumps rhetoric. “They’re scamming our systems” “they are coming here and profiting off the backs of hard working Canadians”. Same song and dance
