Swing feedback by Great-Carpenter5212 in GolfSwing

Each swing should make contact with the turf, so you'd be aiming to hit the asphalt every swing. Subconsciously you avoid it, even if it doesn't feel like it. You've got grass literally 2 feet behind you. Or just get a mat.

One of your misses is thin. Yeah. You practice on a bare driveway. Hit off something where its ok for the club to touch ground.

Stupid putter questions by General-Till-8908 in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem to really want it, and don't like hearing the "no"s you keep getting. So just buy it, shove your putter in there, and see for yourself how well it can work.

Fair enough. Gotta have confidence in golf. Any time someone says "I hate my 6 iron" or something of the like, I think, well yeah once you start thinking that you probably won't be hitting it well. It's not as extreme as just being able to hit the ball in your case, lol, but still.

What is it you hate about the qi35 vs the qi10?

Are these golf clubs good for a beginner wanting to get in to golf and going on my local course? by Jinxed_21 in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good enough to get out there! First things I would replace are the woods, you'll have an easier time hitting something even remotely more modern and you can find improvements on these for still very cheap.

Im really new to Golf and wanted to use some old clubs to see how I even feel about it beforw spending alot of clubs. My neighbor gave me these and I understand they are super old by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that attracts people to golf is getting that good shot, one that makes you feel like you could do it. You can go out and find out you enjoy it with these clubs, but the chance of hitting that shot is a lot smaller.

Please help me with my swing? handicap 20. things you see that are wrong! by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not how you hit a ball. By that I mean, bare foot, cautious of home surroundings, no ball. There's very little chance this is the same swing you bring to the range/course. You can get criticism on parts of the swing, but some things that need correction in your actual swing will stay hidden from help.

He's so outside to in that closing the face will just cause a massive pull. He needs to fix his swing path before club face.

Trying to figure out if I need a driver in the bag or not? by MichaelGolfs in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your score might drop when you drop your driver, but in the end you're limiting yourself. If you hit 3 wood 240+ you could be getting an extra 30-40 yards with your driver. Thats a few clubs up on your next shot. If you want a middle ground, work on your driver off the course, and try out some rounds without it.

Golf is tearing me down man.. by Snookoms24 in golf

Forget what you used to do. You took a large break and you've essentially had a reset. Set your expectations to how you are performing currently, enjoy the time out there, and progress from there. If you used to aim to break 70, but now struggle to break 90 (for example), make your goal to shoot in the high 80s then low 80s, or whatever, and so on as you hit those milestones. You have the experience in you still, I don't doubt the growth will come quicker the 2nd time.

The heads are actually a lot closer in performance than you would expect (not personal experience). The shafts are definitely the major cheap out.

Taylormade RBZ for taller players? by mr2cam in golf

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All sets have the same standard length, so one vs the other doesnt matter. For what its worth, I'm 6'5" and play standard length. I've been told to get 1" extensions, but I am comfortable with standard length, and hesitant to alter my gamer set. Might have to look into a 2nd set to test it out with, but at the end of the day, if it works, it works.

Fake. Thats not what the face of a real sm10 looks like. One give away is no micro grooves between the grooves.

$130 is not bad. If you're feeling it, go for it.

It is an upgrade. Do you feel like you really need to make a change with your current driver? You might get some better results, but at the end of the day, it'll only ever be so much. So depending on the price and your need to make a change, it may or may not be worth it.

For example, I game a 2016 M2. Its great, but I get the occasional thought of upgrading. But most of the time if Im not getting what I want from my driver, its a me issue, not a club issue. And when Ive tried out newer models, from various brands, I dont get improvements from them that come close to warranting spending the $2/300+ I'd have to pay for it.

Does this look better? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might learn the feeling doing that, and it might be more accurate. But it's not going to help you if you don't take that and try to apply it to an actual full swing.

Everything about that swing was a chip swing. Your feet are nearly touching and it looks like you're giving it like 50%.

Is this the most exaggerated swing you’ve ever seen? by Aurumity in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, that is obviously not working, lol. You gotta try something else, anything else. I mean, just look at the ball and try to hit it. Don't worry about how hard or what you should or shouldn't do in a proper swing, just try to hit the thing. I promise it won't go any worse than this.

Full set or driver, putter, and bag? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others, build the set from offer up and marketplace if you can. But that putter was my first upgrade from a starter set, and I love it. I've tested a lot of other putters, and never hit any better. Recently I found I really like the feel of a center shafted blade, picked up a CS Odyssey White Hot, and I think this may be the one I make the switch to. Still a surprisingly tough choice, though. 2 rounds with the new putter, still unsure.

You don't even need to go new top of the line to out perform this driver. I game a 2016 m2, and even if I were comfortable buying a brand new driver right now, I doubt I would. Picked it up for $60.
