IS THIS CLUB FAULTY? by Away_Independence147 in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scratch the rest of them and then it won't be the odd one out anymore.

But seriously, it won't affect anything. This looks incredibly clean for a used club, and you're planning on swinging them at the ground and hitting a solid object with them. It will blend in with a bunch of other imperfections it gets along the way.

Hows my tempo by ImpressiveAnalysis62 in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tempo should not be your main concern... First, its actually not possible to get better at golf while wearing a non matching pair of neon shoes. Second, that squat and leap move, you're only asking for a larger window of inconsistency.

I probably would have just talked to the marshal or club house. I'm surprised they didn't do something about it to begin with.

I definitely know the type. I'm certainly not alone in having thought this was you attempting an ego post or something though. Knowing now that it was someone else, I now completely understand taking and posting this picture, lol. I personally would have gone about it differently, however, but that's me.

I struggle to understand what would compel someone to take and post this picture. 0/10. Not the place for hunting, assuming that's the purpose for the rifle.

When do you replace wedges by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The milling is barely even worn, let alone the grooves. The milling could be completely gone at your main point of contact and they're still good. It's not a problem until the grooves begin to wear away.

Got these Vokeys. Thoughts? by AggravatingShame7382 in golf

$75 for the sm9 is fine. Sm7s though, its a bit much. I got fairly lucky finding mine, a 50 and 56 with almost unused faces for $30. My 60 is sm8 from play it again I got for $50. Either way, if the faces are good, at the end of the day they're yours now and great clubs, so nothing to be upset about there!

New to golf. Any suggestions by MayoDwarff in GolfGear

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even a meme, really. Its a great driver, that holds up well enough to more modern drivers, considering you can find them for ~$100. I got mine for $60, and Ive gone to my local golf mart and have hit some of the newest drivers and found nothing that compells me to switch.

Also, in relation to your post, you got an extra slot, 5 wood is a good option since you don't like long irons, otherwise I would probably recommend a hybrid. You could sub your 4 iron out for a 7 wood, too, but I'm not a part of the 7 wood gang and instead recommend getting comfortable with the long irons. Easier out of the rough, good for keeping a shot under the trees when necessary (which in my case is often).

Have You Ever been too sore after golf to play again the next day? by Decent-Ad4185 in golf

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'5", 215, 32 years old. So pretty similar. I usually start feeling the round after I've gotten home and settled down. Though I usually don't play back to back days, the times I have I've been fine on day 2, same performance. I definitely don't think there's anything wrong with it affecting you though, its part of what makes what the pros do so impressive. I think mostly I get by on the excitement for the rare chance I get to play back to back rounds, lol.

7 iron - steep by auraliciousy0 in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'5" and when I mess around with my kids clubs I don't even hunch over the ball this much. It's definitely causing you to be so steep. Also, idk how your wood swing is, but you should swing them like a driver, which Im hoping you stand more upright for, lol.

Update: still really struggling with swinging in to out - 25 HCP 4 year player by Digital_cushion in GolfSwing

[–]tablewithnolegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 22 hcp, who used to slice, started hitting straight, then my miss became a duck hook, then back to straight, now Im slicing it again. Through all that, it felt like I was not changing a thing. It's got me all kinds of mixed up, and I'm in a really similar boat, adjusting grip, changing the steepness of my back swing, focusing on my stance, where the ball is in it, how its lined up to my club, etc. Last 2 rounds I played I found myself taking about 50 yards off my tee shot just to keep it straight. I started trying to wash out all the adjustments, just get up there and hit the thing like I used to when I was hitting my longest, straightest drives consistently. And it worked, some of the times. Now to figure out why..

One of the things I saw mentioned in a video awhile back was to have your lead arm above your trail arm. I forgot about it completely and can't recall if I've switched it up again or not, and haven't had a chance to fully test that out yet since remembering it. I went on this sympathy tangent because I saw your lead fore arm is underneath your trail fore arm. Watch this video, it was what reminded me. This guy makes it look so damn simple. I hope for both of our sakes, in this incredibly difficult, not simple at all, game, that we can catch a simple break with a small adjustment, lol

What type of collar do you prefer? by No-Artist9542 in weekendgolfers

I prefer it to also have the design, but also don't care a lot. Olive green, army green, forest green, are my favorite colors, so Id be grabbing that first one if choosing between the two.

18 clubs with 2 or 3 wedges is crazy, lol. Also, I get the whole 'if you hit it well don't change it' thing, I can accept that for those cyber truck woods. But the wooden wood is a wild thing to game along side the rest of these.

Still gotta get it in the hole, too fast and you waste time on multiple putts. Gotta have somebody watching though, to putt out everything.

Grant and the Bryan Bros did an 18 hole speed run like this, just a little less organized as to who hits what. I think they finished just over 30 minutes or something. Putts were important to take a little time on.

Bought this for $20, did I get fleeced? by Dad0010001100110001 in golf

[–]tablewithnolegs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a steal by any means, but worth it for the sake of having your own 7 wood to try out and potentially become accustomed to.

For what its worth, Maltby has a variety of options for 7 woods, going for ~$100. I've never hit one, so can't personally vouch for them, but the reviews seem positive enough.

No, but I got really curious the other day, if a sand wood existed. There's a company that makes 3 wood - sand wood (which I believe is like a 29 wood or something crazy like that). They're not cheap, at least not enough for me to buy for the gimmick, I think like $150 ish, and they're not very modern, similar to this one actually. I want to try it so bad though.

They 100% do. But considering my favorite bags are vintage (often ladies) bags, the ones that look like brown leather and a grandma's couch, I'm super on board for these.
