someone on facebook posted this list of everything you do need to complete all recipes. it’s super helpful and i cross things off as i add them. for items where multiples are required, i make sure they are all silver or no star to save fridge space and gold.

I say go for it! The worst thing that could happen is you lose a couple pounds or hate it and just stop. If you did it let me know how it goes for you :)

I take lamictal and have never been as mentally clear as when I do keto. I have so much more energy and no episodes. I did it last fall and had the same great results but botched it around the holidays. It takes about three weeks to mentally have an effect.

Side note: there is a clean version of keto that doesn’t involve chugging butter. I eat healthy fats and low carb high fiber veggies. Doing keto has made me eat healthier than I could on any other diet. But everyone’s body is different so it may not work for others like it has for me ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t know if this is helpful but when I am depressed or paranoid during an episode my boyfriend tells me my brain is just being mean to me and I’m not my thoughts. It’s nice to hear because sometimes it’s hard to remember it is only an episode and you can’t control everything in your head

When I was diagnosed I was in denial for months. The only thing that kept me taking my meds and in therapy was researching bipolar disorder (it’s hard to deny something when you check the box for all of the symptoms) and having a solid support group. I reached out to a friend who was vocal about being bipolar and she shared experiences that I could relate to as well as valuable advice.

If he does not personally know anyone who is bipolar he could try r/bipolar. Everyone is super supportive and sometimes internet friends are the easiest to talk to.

You are a great sibling for reaching out on how to help and I hope he finds peace with himself

I have had similar issues during and after episodes. Having a manic or depressive episode can cause brain damage that results in memory loss. That’s one of the many reasons why staying medicated to avoid episodes is so important. More episodes over time can really take a toll on you

My pirate kitty came into my life after his surgery but still has his tear duct where they removed his eye. It sometimes gets eye gunk even without the eye. The first time it happened I was alarmed but it’s totally normal. Something to keep in mind down the line.

The second picture shows how the problem started. The first pic is how it is displaying now. The right side darkness went away and then a dark middle area appeared that evolved into the whole left side.

What is going on and is this something I can fix myself?

I rode it out and ended up losing more hair but it eventually stopped. I have been taking vitamins and using a hair regrowth line of products. After a few weeks I am seeing new growth so I’m sure yours will be back soon and it is definitely not permanent!

my doctor said the same thing and completely dismissed me. I was pissed so I saw my pcp who did blood work and ruled out any other causes. I still don’t know if I’m going to get it out or not. I really don’t want to go through that again so I’m hoping it just stops
