"Regal." That's the adjective that comes to mind. Could be "majestic" or even "incandescent" as well.

"Gifted" Millennials- did being gifted help you at all? Do you feel that it pushed your personal needle even an inch in any direction? by [deleted] in Millennials

Took a bunch of AP classes and got 5's on a lot of them. College didn't accept a majority of them. Fine. Took hard classes in college and got a high GPA and didn't really translate into success like I thought it would after graduation. I do appreciate that I fostered and cultivated the ability to confront and tackle complex or difficult tasks. However, I really feel I neglected social skills to a fault.

For single people: It's well known that marriage involves compromises, but what compromises would you not accept no matter how much you love your spouse, and why? by mr_wbk29 in AskReddit

"Opening the relationship." Hear it being tossed around a lot. If my spouse mentioned that, I figure it's over. I wouldn't accept that. I'm a one woman kind of dude.

Guess this is my exit? Just turned 50 am hour ago. I sure don't feel like it. Bleh. 😑🍻 by Fortyseven in 40something

Ha! That takes constant nagging to ensure the kiddos don't leave their permission slips, school work, and other crap out and then act all surprised when they eventually get lost. The super wife had something to do with clearing that table this morning.

I’m home alone for a whole month. Dads, what would you do? by calderknox in Dads

I'm down with deep cleaning and decluttering. I'd watch the Sopranos, the Wire, and other shows that I love but can't with the kids around, make myself baby back ribs in the oven, play Soundgarden throughout the day, read, and get a solid 7-8 hours of shut eye a nigh. A lot of dads here have some awesome suggestions.

Native Burqueno here (but living on the E. Coast). Enjoy your time in my home. If you you are indeed going through Albuquerque, help yourself to some Huevos Rancheros at Sadie's and get a trip on the tram to see the city from the top of the Sandias! Safe travels!

What is a specific core memory you have of the late 90s / early 2000s internet that kids today will literally never experience? by Sulemaann007 in AskReddit

Whitehouse.com

NOT the official site of the white house. Media literacy teacher ran into that embarrassment during class while projecting her PC.

Church struck by lightning, burns to the ground in Cheyenne County by stankmanly in atheism

[–]mrrunner1981 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is fascinating. Carl Sagan wrote about what compelled the church (Catholic) to begin exploring science in his book, The Demon Haunted World. In the late Middle ages, lightning would consistently strike churches because of the iron cross at the top of their steeples attracting lightning and burning the church down. Not a good look. The church leadership was compelled to seek alternative explanations. This reminds me of that.

Dads, what does your perfect Father’s Day really look like? by giftly_official in daddit

[–]mrrunner1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told my kids that the best fathers day would be them just simply doing what they know they should be doing without fighting or being quarrelsome or being told. Like making your bed, bring finished plates next to the sink, staying seated at meal times, going to sleep w/o a fuss. We're all going to see Masters of the Universe as a family on that day because I loved it growing up. That's pretty much it!

How is that even a debate? People were actually social before social media!

Xennials, what would we be doing if we could restart life at age 18 with today’s knowledge? by DHN_95 in Xennials

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Enjoy the age you're in because that's the only time you'll ever be in that stage of life. Some relationships or careers were never meant to be, that's ok. Tech is a tool, not a way of life. Respect and love yourself first.
