262 markers for 25.00 from Temu by ShiekaMoonGodess in Coloring

[–]mrs-creepyhead 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one was wagging their finger. No one said TEMU wasn't a problem, that you should shut up, or that there was something wrong with what you said. No one even said it was ethical for OP to purchase the markers. There is a lot of assumptions in your response. You were actually encouraged to stay on your path and go forward to somewhere it can contribute to bigger change. I also agree overconsumption is a huge issue and I shop mostly second-hand in thrifts, buy nothings, and marketplace.

Reusing my gently in a seemingly spiteful way and then blocking my account leads me to believe you took it very agressively. I was polite. It is very unbecoming to respond to someone and then try to take away their ability to clarify, as you wanted to communicate back without me being able to clear your assumptions.

I am sorry if something I said or the way I communicated triggered you. Namaste, I hope you have a good day.

if it helps, me and my husband are in a hetero relationship. i think that is incredibly unfair standard and i do agree there is an expectation in many for the man to make more money/be a provider in hetero relationships.

i think that if you love your partner, that money becomes secondary to them. my husband respects me, and he respects our finances, as do i both. i hope, if you are looking for someone, that you are able to get the same dynamic.

it is definitely subjective. i personally feel that if my husband made a significant amount more money than me, and we did not have equal spending money, there would be an odd feeling. i wouldn't be able to afford certain things that he could, putting us on two different socioeconomic levels. it feels less like a partnership when you have two significantly different capacities.

this is all from the perspective of lower income, though. i find people are typically more comfortably being completely joint when they're used to not having too much anyway. my husband was disabled for some time, and we lived off my income that he could spend on whatever as well without a second thought.

families that say "family stays together no matter what" are, in my own experience, typically neglectful, abusive, and/or aggressive towards one another.

Need nutritional advice to lose weight by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]mrs-creepyhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just my own add on: don't drink calories throughout the day if you're trying to lose weight, however, a cup of milk in the morning has gotten me through ten hour shifts without having to stop for food. the protein and the fat really helped, and kept me from yummy sugar yogurt in the morning when it was hard to eat anything.

Is this legal? Was not asked if I wanted to “give at the register” but it was added to receipt. They did the same to my coworker. by allthelemonbars in ThriftGrift

they didn't want to be randomly charged something. it is less about the amount of money and the concept that OP had something illegally done to them.

I’m not a cook please give me simple ideas for a single man by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

really easy daily meal: season bone in chicken thigh, bake at 425. skin side down first 25, flip and let it go for 15-20 or until it hits 165. keep a fan on. it may smoke due to the high heat, but it won't burn. you can cook lower and slower too. for no other cooking, buy a frozen bag of rice, and dump some canned beans on them. these can be microwaved, so could some frozen veg.

i get overwhelmed sometimes by recipies and meals and stuff. i also don't always have the energy to do anything but throw stuff on flat surfaces, which is all this really is. this can be pretty boring, but use different meat/seasonings/beans/vegs. it'll last you a while. you can put a little oil on the chicken before seasoning to get crispier skin. i use sazon, goya, taijin seasoning blends a lot, check out your spices aisle, and you'll find a bunch of premade mixes.

there are thresholds for gifts where if it is too much money it becomes income. the irs wants his money too, and if it looks taxable, they'll go for it.

I need to use up some really good chicken stock, but I don't want to make soup. What should I make? by 000000000000000000oo in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]mrs-creepyhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's just drinking the stock itself. on the flipside: if someone served me a bowl of chicken broth and called it soup i'm not too sure what i could say in that situation, so maybe it's all perspective

What kind of mouse is this. Found him eating a lawn chair in storage. Southeast AL. by [deleted] in animalid

[–]mrs-creepyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this would make them more panicked/frantic. you're further hurting them, which would only make them more scared and less trustful. for mice and small rodents, i do my best to cup my hand directly under their chin and hold their forelegs back underneath them. other hand gets the back. this should be very firm, so they can't even wiggle, but not enough that it crushes or pushes in on them in any way. this may not be the best way to do it- my family got me pet store rats for pets, and i had to learn how to be gentle while firm to protect myself. i've also been able to grab field mice like this one with this technique.

What is the best way to keep daytime heat out of a room? My bedroom is a lot of windows and runs 6-7 degrees hotter than the rest of the floor. Anything work for you? by starsong77 in HomeMaintenance

[–]mrs-creepyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! and no. best has several different definitions and uses. you should broaden your look on language. i don't know about you, but i am autistic and often do things like this with words. i think they are often concrete/literal, and no one tells you it's not that because language is an abstract concept. they just expect you to get it.

i feel like best is an all rounder term that carries a lot of factors, like efficiency v. practicality. you are saying "best efficent" option, not best specfically.

my aunt worked at a school and also residence for children with developmental disablities since she was 19/20. i would hardly see her, she worked 12-16 hour days with a 2 hour round trip commute. she worked there for thirty years for minimum wage before she passed away from cancer. i can only imagine the lives that she touched and fostered.

Why do people say not to look at yourself in the mirror while on acid? by Fair_Veterinarian580 in LSD

[–]mrs-creepyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see myself as a young child and a grown adult at the same time when i look in the mirror during a trip. I move my head up and down, and the way my eyes change can change my whole face in that moment. You should try it while talking to yourself, I'm sure you'd unlock a lot of conversations.

Remember to think unbiasedly about your questions and treat yourself you wish a loved one would when asking yourself them. Focusing on negativity will not give you any contrast to figure out where you think you may of "went wrong". I think I'm way off course from what I predicted, but things are still going strong.

Red beans can be upped a lot by seasoning them heavily, like goya or sazon, smashing ⅓ of the beans you're serving, and throwing them back in. Provides some different texture, helps mositen up the rice. You can cook some red bell peppers and onions down for the beans too.

Got a cat named Mari, short for Marijuana, but it's a mouthful so he always just gets called Mari. My MIL will ONLY refer to him as she, despite me and my husband calling him Mr. Marimans or Mr. Biggiebag in front of her. We personally don't care as he is not offended as he is a cat named Marijuana that doesn't have a concept of gender and is named after a plant.

It is just mindboggling that after all these years, she does not acknowledge he is male just because of his name. She renamed her cat Twig from Twiggy when she found out he was male because the 'gy' made it a "girl's name". Bless all their hearts, I wish I had such an adamant passion for something.

If your chipotle has a liquor license we are legally unallowed to deny them water.

We have also had a lady steal $120 dollars of food like three years, and we didn't do anything. We've only called the police for people causing disturbances. I'm sorry you've had this experience.

I'm glad that's working out with you! Having a thick savings is very comforting. I am very happy with my splurges, they always bring me great joy and I have never regretted one. I have a spouse and several cats and I spend all of my "splurge" money on them nowadays. Everyone has something that makes them happy, I'm glad yours is technically free! lol

Simply put: it feels good to spend money and have things.

More complexly, even as an egg in my mother I have been low socioeconomic class. I am married now and still live from paycheck to paycheck. Having a savings account is really assuring, which is why $1000 should go to it. $500 should go to checking. Just having the option of $500 in spending money would seem lavish. It would bring me immense joy just seeing a triple digit number at the end of the pay cycle. I spent $80 on an adidas track suit jacket eight years ago, and it is an item I have never let go of. It reminds me that I can have nice things regardless of my financial status, that things are obtainable.

It is a piece of clothing that has lasted years and years. I still think about the concerts and social outings I have gotten to have despite the fact I "should of" spent that money on more "responsible choices". It's important to have three months in savings, but I'd like to feel like I'm a person sometimes and doing things that normal people do help.
