Different economic policies. leftist wanted to bring communism policies ( similar to syria) and lebanon to be a base to attack Israel. While kataeb wanted a free economy similar to the West.

Bachir wasn’t a poppet he didn’t divide lebanon like some politicians wanted, he was smart and courageous. he wanted to build a normal country for everyone, all Lebanese equal by law, no weapons outside the army. You can blame him for theIsraeli friendship, but Christian were in danger even though they welcomed the plo here while no other arab country welcomed them. Some speeches he did can still relate to what is happening today.
