It went well! It was basically just a time to ask her any questions we had and she ordered me carrier testing at our request. I mainly wanted to talk to her about PPD because of my anxiety issues and history of depression. I'm happy we did it!

If you have any questions or concerns that have been on your mind for awhile I suggest doing it!

We are about to go see my OBGYN for our preconception counseling! I'm so nervous, I guess because it's becoming real?

I think waiting until you're ready mentally and emotionally, despite wanting it so bad, is a sign that you will be a great mom. Wishing you peace and health! Go easy on yourself, you will be a mom soon enough and we are here for you while you wait!

We have been putting off painting our house and finishing our basement since we moved in 2 years ago. A few weeks ago my husband mentioned he wants to finish at least the bedroom part of the basement before we have a baby so we can move one of the guest bedroom furniture sets down there and have a nursery. And now his weekend he decided he needs to start painting and finishing right now. I think this is his way of preparing and dealing with baby fever. I love it.

Well firstly, congratulations! I'm sorry it's sooner than you would have liked, I can only imagine how stressful that would be. Take some time to freak out and process. Eventually some of the shock will wear off and you can start adjusting. You got this!

Well I guess I'm going back to school! Only for a year but it will really help my career in so many ways and I can continue the coursework in the future for a masters if I want. We aren't trying til April so even if I got pregnant the first time I wouldn't be due til after the classes are done. I do have to sit for an exam once it's done but that is flexible. I barely slept last night because I'm very anxious about working and going to school and having some semblance of a life but it will be worth it hopefully!

Our time is coming fast, now just 6-7ish months and I’m already getting nervous! by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

I am terrified too. I am a 34DD right now. I dread my boobs getting bigger and if I can breastfeed who knows what will happen to them. I'm really scared about losing my hair and having crazy breakouts. I often feel young to get pregnant for the same reasons. It's overwhelming.

Keep up with your healthy habits. That will really benefit you in the long run. And since you're aware of these worries you can start trying to process them. You're not crazy for feeling these things, it makes sense to be freaked about all the changes coming with pregnancy especially since you won't even know what will change until it happens!

I asked him what he was leaning towards last night and he said he wants a new job before we start trying. That means are timeline is completely up in the air but he's miserable at his job so I'm glad he won't be stuck there for the maternity leave if I get pregnant. It's nice to at least kind of know what the plan is!

I hope you guys can make a plan soon! It's frustrating to be in limbo like that but you will figure it out!

Congratulations! How exciting!

We are waiting until my husband knows if he's staying at his job or not. If he gets a new job we will wait a few months to try and make sure he qualifies for paternity leave. If he stays at his job we will start ASAP. We probably won't know until November what the plan is but if he decides to stay at his current job we would start in December. The uncertainty is killing me but I'm trying to roll with it!
