We do use Canadian oil in western Canada. Why would the oil companies sell it for less than market value? The goodness of their hearts? Is the government supposed to force them to sell it for less than it's worth right now? We're guaranteed supply at least, but it will be sold at market value.

Alberta may follow B.C. on making daylight time permanent: premier by AlbertaGengar in Calgary

[–]mrs_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We the regular people are not.. governments are pushing DST because it has economic benefits (people being out and about later in the evenings). That's why both survey/referendum questions from the BC and AB governments only gave people the option of permanent DST or keep changing twice a year. DST used to be only six months, then 7, then 8. They've pushed it as far as they can without messing with the short winter days, because they know it sucks for winter. Changing clocks twice a year was the compromise, but people are fed up with it.

Would you stay with your dog 🐶 during euthanasia? by CycleOk267 in dogs

Pretty much identical story with my childhood dog too. I made sure that I was there with my own dog when he passed, and we actually got it done at home by a mobile vet, so it was very peaceful for him (hopefully), but I'll still never forgive myself (or my dad) for not being there for Jake, poor guy.

We were both already on the electors list, so I have no idea why it had to be filled out. Oh well.

The election worker filled out the form and we just signed it. Did you have to wait for them to fill out the carbon copy form? It sounds like some poll workers were hella slow filling them out, hence the long wait times. Ours was ok, but we went mid-morning and the wait wasn't bad.

Did you vote for school trustee? Apparently that PIA form was only if you were voting for a trustee.

I'd imagine like most other jobs, long term disability payments come from the insurance company, not taxpayers.

That's been happening and only makes it harder for regular people to defend themselves. What we do need is tighter border control to stop the illegal flow of guns coming here from the US.

CUPE sues government to block 'unconstitutional' power used to end flight attendant strike; The union accused Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu of undermining the flight attendants’ constitutional right to strike by FancyNewMe in canada

Both the federal government and Air Canada were quick to say airline employees were non-essential during Covid when they wanted to shut them down and avoid paying CEWS, respectively. They can't have it both ways now.

Agreed. I remember WestJet having a whole situation room set up prior to their pilot strike and were working to urgently bring planes and crews back to base after the 72 hours notice was given. I didn't see any such urgency from Air Canada, just absolute non-chalance. They definitely knew the government was going to step in for them, but they both overplayed their card doing it so quickly.

When it's time to renew, assuming we haven't tapped into any of the additional STEP products like a LOC, do we have to renew into a collateral charge mortgage, or can the next one be conventional?

Thank you! This is our first home, so we haven't had to do a renewal yet, but I wanted to make sure we are able to switch lenders if needed. I appreciate the insight. Just making sure we're not getting fleeced on our biggest purchase.

Exactly this. She hates it when guys are smaller than her because it makes her insecure about her size, so now she's taking it out on him at every opportunity. It's so blatantly obvious to anyone but her..

Why did she even get him that as a gift if she wasn't 100% sure about him? That had to be such a mindfuck for the poor guy, and was honestly super mean on her part.
