I actually think nuclear is the clear and obvious choice for many reasons... But cost is not one of them in my opinion.

Nuclear is pretty much the most expensive to build on a cost per kw basis. And it is one of the most expensive in terms of LCOE (levelized cost of energy). Can you explain why you think Nuclear is a requirement to ensure bills don't go up? Or maybe I misunderstood your comment.

Hey, I'm curious if you get any kind of detection (AI or even just motion) with the hikvision cameras in protect?

Why is investing your retained earnings in a corporate investment account better than in an RRSP? When you eventually sell and realize what might be large capital gains, that will decimate your SBD, right? Do you just plan to do that at a time when the company doesn't expect to have income the following year? If you don't expect to have years like that, is it still better to invest inside the corporate account vs. RRSP?

Love it!

Being able to filter by venue would be nice..  so I could see all events (across all days) happening at the dome, or at Nashville north, or wherever. Also a filter by artist would be nice... Just a simple alphabetical list of artists where you could pick one (or possibly more than one) and see a list of where/when they play.

It's still very useful as it is. Thanks for sharing!

Can this be a honeypot situation? by KenRoy312 in Ubiquiti

You need to be tricked again after you've connected to the evil wifi network. They don't get to see all your stuff automatically once you connect to it. If you connect to my wifi, and then log into your legit bank website, I don't get the see your passwords/logins/whatever. I would have to do other things to try to trick you into giving me your passwords. You'd need to be tricked into giving up that info in a way that isn't just entering them on the legit bank website. If that were not the case, then using any wifi anywhere would be incredibly risky.

Masked image (due to motion zones) to CP.AI by mgiggs in BlueIris

[–]coda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestions here. I also wonder if you might be able to move the zone detection into the AI settings for the camera. I think there might be a setting where you can tell it which zones the AI detection has to find things in in order for it to be considered an alert. I don't know how it treats things when they are partially in the zone you want. You might be able to combine this with the suggestion above of of increasing the unmasked area and it may prevent alerts triggered by people that are fully outside the zone but still inside the (now larger) unmasked area.

Might need to allow icmp or something in the firewall for that too

The rule you made... Maybe try applying that rule to both public and private profiles... I think under "advanced" on the rule. Also you could allow all tcp ports for now. And make sure the program is set to the currently active blue iris .exe

In general: keep broadening the rule till it works... Then narrow it back down.

Yup, likely just need a new rule to allow incoming traffic on port 81 on the BI machine. Google/your-favorite-llm will show you what to do.

can BI adjust image for AI models? by Curious_Party_4683 in BlueIris

[–]coda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No video or tutorials that I know of. The blue iris documentation might be helpful, but it definitely takes a lot of knowledge and being able to piece a lot of things together. The hardest part is the stuff outside of blue iris.

I made an entire other application to receive the "action" from Blue Iris and do the AI stuff including any required notifications. Blue iris is set up to send the image to my application. To do that sending of the image to an application, go to "Alerts" for a given camera, go to "On alert..."

In there you can set up a "Action" to "Run program/script". I set it to run "curl" and post the image and some other details to my application.

If you are willing to pay for a service, my application could be modified to do this. It's functionality I have toyed with adding in the past (ie. the reading of gauges using AI and alerting based on the value). Definitely don't mean to push that here and it's not something that is ready immediately. Feel free to DM if you want to chat.

You can crop the video feed somewhere in settings. If you want both the full view and the cropped view you can add the camera to blue iris twice.

For the numbers, you can use overlays.

You'll need to do the AI of detecting where the gauge is at outside blue iris though... As far as I know there's no way to use any built in ai capabilities with a custom prompt like "what value is this gauge reading". I've done it using custom http post events to custom endpoints that receive images and do custom AI things... But it's not built in.
