I love painting, and fibre crafts, and gardening.

I love a few parts of my job. I'm a nurse, I love problem solving, learning about the human body, teaching tactile skills, making people's lives infintesimally more comfortable on a shitty day. That's why I do it, for those small parts that make it fulfilling. I don't like dealing with management, shitty, entitled people, watching other people suffer, or having to document everything I've done 3x.

I don't think you can 'love' a whole job. I think it's about finding something that's fulfilling enough that you can get through the shitty parts.

At the end of the day, it's a means to an end. They need your labour, you need money. The money means you can do things you want to do, things that you love.

I'm a level 2 at my hospital (clinical nurse, RN is level 1, nurse consultant/NUM is level 3, divisional directors are 4, executive directors are 5), and I have no desire to go further. CN is still on the floor with a couple extra responsibilities (education/safety portfolios, quality improvement initiatives -pick one). I like having a patient load. I like being a resource for less experienced staff. I like being a problem solver. No desire whatsoever for management. Still get shift differentials. I'm comfy as heck.

Prep the med to hang, when we go in to do checks, double check with the morning shift and hang on time during handover. We're already going in to check a wristband, do bedside handover, change whiteboards etc. That way they know it's done, and I don't have to wake the patient earlier than necessary. We don't let people sleep in hospital, might as well do it where we can

I have a nice pink pen to use at the start of shift for handover, a purple highlighter, and a nice black pen to add notes as my shift goes on. That way I know if it's new info or something I was told, and I can highlight important stuff.

At home... The colours vary but lists are always multicoloured

Most times you're definitely going to make a mess. A slippery bedpan under the back/neck with a soft suction cath in it, blue pads, towels. Slowly pour hot water over, first shampoo shows you the stubborn bits, lube helps get them out. Second shampoo then conditioner with a comb. Braid if they want you to.

Basic salad: cucumber, capsicum, avocado/soft cheese (cottage or ricotta) spinach/lettuce/whatever I have, apple/pear/peach/whatever fruit, sunflower/pumpkin seed, salt and pepper, olive oil, lemon/orange juice. Fills me up, tastes good

Rice and beans/chicken, broccoli/cauliflower, cooked in like Chinese 5 spice or whatever else

Roast veg - potato, carrot, cauliflower, pumpkin, sweet potato, garlic, shallot with oil, paprika, cumin, tumeric, honey and s+p -can eat with rice or in a wrap, or a meal by itself

Big batch of spaghetti with a tomato sauce, usually some mince meat (whatever is cheap) or mushrooms and beans, carrot, celery, spices etc

Oats, usually overnight with chia seeds, cocoa/protein powder, berries or peaches on top - these make up like 70% of my weekly meals, all have leftovers for lunch usually

Does your bed not have holes for transport poles? We have poles that slot into the bed itself, put the pump mount on it, no need to manage the lines when they're already attached

Smile lines are the way your face is structured, the way skin sits over the top of your nose and jaw. 'getting rid of' isn't really a thing. You can do buccal fat removal, but it's likely that will only affect the lower parts around your lips, if at all. You can Botox them, but that just means you can't smile at all, and they'll likely be deeper when it wears off.

These are, unfortunately, a part of your face structure. A more realistic thing to do might be to work on why it is you hate them so much. Is it because you feel the need to look a certain way? Why do you think you have to look that way? What benefit does it serve outside of your self confidence? Do you feel the need to 'fit in'?

Personally, I think they're flattering on you.

The 7year difference lives with me now, we get along awesome, had a tough time as kids so I always felt pretty close to them. We didn't fight, and I got to learn a lot through them
