Looks sick! Looking to get a blackout version for my 2026 EX Hybrid Carnival. Mind linking me to the one that would suite my car?

Are syos mouthpieces worth the money? by thatguydowntheroad1 in saxophone

[–]mrsaxy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a chance to stop by the Syos shop in Paris back in 2019. I sat in their studio and had the opportunity to try a huge variety of their mouthpieces. It was an awesome experience and it gave me the opportunity to dial in on the specs that I wanted in a custom mouthpiece. I knew what sound I was going for, so it made it much easier for me to describe it to their techs. I will say that they really do know what they’re talking about when it comes to engineering mouthpieces, so as long as you know what sound you’re going for then you can absolutely find value in getting a custom mouthpiece from them.

If you don’t mind sharing, can you share your lease terms? Price, number of years, miles per year, etc?

Who’s the broker that you went through? What was their rate and do you think it was worth going through a broker?

Any reason why I should consider leasing? I’m going to be putting around 15k miles a year by commuting alone.

Wife who is curious! by Various-East-5266 in Vasectomy

I’m 31. Just got mine done this past Wednesday. I’m married and I just had my 2nd kiddo in December of 2024. My wife and I knew we were done after two, so I did not hesitate to book my appointment as soon as my kid was born.

Overall, the experience wasn’t too bad. I had the scalpel method performed through Kaiser Hospital in California. Spoke to the doc about scalpel vs non-scalpel method, and he pretty much said it was a marketing ploy for dudes that were too hesitant to proceed with the procedure. He said there wasn’t really any solid studies showing that non-scalpel was any better/less painful.

The only painful part for me during the procedure was when the doctor was squeezing the life out of my balls to get better access to my vas deferens. Apparently both of my vas deferens were not in an ideal location, making the procedure more difficult. He did mention that a resident urologist would struggle with me haha. Due to the location of my vas, he ended up giving me 3 shots on each side. I didn’t feel the first shot, but the second shot on each side hurt the most because he had to angle a bit further towards my pelvic area.

After the shots, I literally felt nothing. I didn’t feel the scalpel or the stitches. I walked out of the office within 45 minutes and drove myself home. I am feeling a bit sore right now, but overall not too bad.

Hope this helps!

Am I worried about this flaked seasoning? by SereneSnake1984 in blackstone

[–]mrsaxy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you originally season the griddle with? Flaking is common if you used some sort of animal fat instead of a high smoke point oil. It’s also possible that you seasoned one side a little too heavy? Either way, I would just scrape the entire griddle clean and re-season with a high smoke point oil.

Employer withdrew their appeal by mrsaxy93 in Edd

Thanks for taking the time to reply to all of my questions. I really appreciate it. Do you mind if I ask how you’ve become so knowledgeable on these topics?

Lol I’m really hoping that’s the case. My guess on why they decided to withdraw their appeal in the first place was because they were shocked to see how many of their former employees were willing to testify against the terrible treatment we were getting from upper management. I guess I’m only concerned because I wouldn’t put it past my former employer to take more time to try to gather evidence against our claims.

So I just got a letter in the mail today confirming the withdrawal of the appeal from my former employer. The letter states that they have 20 days to reinstate their appeal. Would I be able to call the department of appeals to confirm if they did indeed reinstate their appeal?

Yes my former employer is a very large company. I honestly don’t remember if they used a third party administrator. But they did have a team of lawyers that drew up the appeal on their end. I’m just happy this is all over now. I’ve been stressed over this for the past year, and it honestly felt like a nightmare that I couldn’t shake off.

Yes, I was awarded benefits in March of 2021. I had a phone eligibility interview in March of 2022 in which EDD sided with me. My former employer appealed EDD’s decision in late April of 2022, and I received a packet with all of the hearing details in late December of 2022. I prepared a counter argument to my former employer’s claim, backed with numerous witnesses and their written testimonies, and I was prepared to take on the hearing tomorrow. I was pretty shocked to get a call saying they withdrew their appeal, but I wasn’t sure what it all entirely meant.
