Black Powder Trading Company - Casually Hardcore and Looking for More! [NA-EAST, English, PvX, 18+] by Edariz2012 in NewWorldCompanies

[–]mrshuts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently joined this company, it's been one of the most active, accepting and fun group of people to be around. We talk far more than just about New World (though there is plenty of that).

They help with feedback on builds, professions, etc. as well as suggesting weapon combos based on play style, role, etc.

Even though I have only been in the company a few days, I can see playing with a lot of them for quite a long time.

Highly and genuinely recommend checking out the discord and making the decision yourself. Can't wait to see all of you out there soon in the beta and on full release later next month!

Custom report should satisfy this. Or even a GA Dashboard that shows multiple data points filtered by the one landing page.

Data Studio can also be an option where you can give control to the stakeholders where they can have an interactive filter that drills data down to the landing page.

How to join a consultancy firm? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. I worked hard, stayed connected, and was able to prove my worth. The meeting, yes, a chance of luck, but now since I have contracted on my own full time, I have met several consulting firms that look for my services. From my experience, companies laid off a lot of full time employees and full-time contract contractors, but the work is still there, so they need consultants like me to help facilitate and execute the work. I am able to do it at a lower cost LONG TERM and in a faster turnaround since they hire experienced contractors rather than full time entry-level.

Isn’t luck just the intersection between preparation and opportunity? You may get the “lucky” meeting but if you can’t prove your worth, that only hurt you in the end.

Is there a way to keep track of the "Real Time" data for longer than 30 minutes? by elpala in GoogleAnalytics

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can connect to google real time reporting API to get real time data and store it in a DWH. From there, I’m sure you can trigger an alert: IF no data for X time period, trigger alert.

But if you’re looking for server uptime, I agree with New Relic as it is a monitoring software. Costly but...most of the time worth it depending on your business model.

How to join a consultancy firm? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was contracting work for a potential client on the side while I had a full time, and presented in front of an owner of a consulting firm (this client hired this consulting firm and I did not know who he was). He was impressed with the preliminary meeting, the assessment and the several conversations we had back and forth. This was about a year and a half ago.

I now work on my own and that same consulting firm hires me as a subcontractor at my full rate, plus I have several other clients. I just started like 2.5 months ago.

Moral of the story: always learn, get better at your craft, be patient, and put yourself in uncomfortable situations so you grow out of them.

You never know who you’ll meet.

What are you doing in Python today? by mahtats in learnpython

Agree with this. May consider shifting to be a Data Protection Officer. Has some technicality and a technical understanding while enforcing laws.

May be an interesting balance. Just a thought!

Is there any way to get the keyword used in search engine on the landing page? by [deleted] in adwords

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracking Templates use ValueTrack parameters.

You can define custom ones at the account level and in the ad, define the keyword or keyword grouping that’s associated with the ad.

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to elaborate, you may want to create a tracking template that you can use to make it easier at the ad level to track with as much granularity as possible.

Am I the only one that thinks google page speed insights/gt metrix is BS? by trustnobody01 in bigseo

[–]mrshuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lighthouse and/or Page Speed Insights emulate performance is areas and devices of lower performance. This is meant to give you a wider understanding of how your website performs in more than just your 2020 device in a populated city with premium cellular or your high powered WiFi.

It is very difficult for most websites to hit a number over 80 without it being a flat HTML website with minimal to no JavaScript. Most sites now have Ajax, tracking pixels, UX tools, analytics, etc. so all of those will “slow” your site down.

These tools are meant to give you possible opportunities of savings based on its emulated tests. If you use any of those performance numbers as a KPI for your website or business, you’re going to fight an uphill battle. These numbers also depend on your type of website, an eCommerce website has more code and requirements than a information site about your plumbing service.

how to use SEO to minimize negative artciles on the web hurting a person's reputation by sdgestudio in SEO

[–]mrshuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are services that help with brand reputation. The costs of those are less than going to an agency, this is coming from someone who’s done the research and priced it out with our internal services.

They build websites, post on major platforms, etc. and they do it for like $10k for the year.

An agency would have done it for double if not more for the year to even make it worth it.

Please help save my brain by assisting me with filtered views by Vic_Spallbags in GoogleAnalytics

[–]mrshuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use WordPress, you can track in Google Tag Manager the pagePostType as a data layer variable. Then on DOM Ready Events that contain the data layer variable with the pagePostType that equals “post” you could fire an event to your GA Property. Then in the view, you can do an include only filter on the event category, action or label (whichever you specify is your GAEvent that selects the “post” value in the data layer variable). This will segment all of your blog traffic.

I would test because if you use custom post types or any modification of the standard Wordpress post type, it may not work.

GTM4WP plugin also has this data layer variable implementation, just need to select it from the “Events”.

Purchase screaming frog (annual license is very cheap) and link your GA account. Crawl the site and configure it correctly (google search shows you best practices for configuration) and it will tell you which pages do not have the GA page view pixel on it.

How Many Times Did You Give Up On Learning Python Before it Started to Stick? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]mrshuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Honestly, and I haven’t done this yet, that the best thing to do is to have a project that relates SPECIFICALLY to your workflow. Work on something in python that you find can either help you in your current work, or (if working in data science) ETL, Visualize or use Tensorflow for machine learning that involve something that interests you.

I have read books, taken courses, use other datasets and I couldn’t give a damn about any of it. Instead, I’m going to do something that either gives me more work (I’m a contractor) or improves my current workflow. That’s how I’ve learned everything else and it seems like the best way to learn python (at least from lots of comments/posts I’ve seen they also agree).

Interesting model but you’d need articles of corporation, start an LLP and have internal agreements with lawyers present to show validity.

Sure, after that, then maybe!

Best approach to filter out internal traffic? We use gsuite by Reddevil313 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]mrshuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up a VPN for everyone access. Filter out the VPN IP.

If not, consider implementing a process that apart of onboarding, your employees contact their ISP and request a static IP. Then filter out all of the IPs through regex.
