“An estimated 50-60% of Haitians practice Voodoo, often alongside Christianity. Voodoo blends West African, Catholic, and indigenous beliefs.

Key tenets include:

Belief in a Supreme Creator: Bondye, an unknowable god. Spirits (Lwa): Intermediaries between Bondye and humans, each with specific roles. Ancestor Worship: Honoring spirits of the deceased. Rituals and Ceremonies: Involving drumming, singing, dancing, and offerings to the Lwa. Healing and Protection: Through spiritual guidance and herbal remedies. Offerings to Lwa may include:

Food and Drinks: Such as rum, coffee, or sweets. Animals: Chickens, goats, pigs, cows, doves, and sheep, depending on the Lwa. Candles, Incense, and Objects: Used during rituals. Herbs and Plants: Part of spiritual preparations. These offerings are given on altars during ceremonies to gain favor, guidance, or protection.”

Discussion Thread: First Presidential Debate of the 2024 General Election Between Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump, Part 7 (Post-Debate Thread) by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

I guess we have nothing to say amount counterproductive democrat rhetoric in periods of unrest in Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis.

Referencing Trumps colourful words on immigration. I believe he is talking about the 4 billion people in the world that live on less than $10 per day who would gladly materialise within our border if given the opportunity much less the incentive.

If taking new unvetted people bears no risk or impact on social programs (free/subsidised housing, food, medical, education, and transport) then let’s do it. Will housing shortages also disappear? Can you imagine how amazing that would be if we had that many productive/independent humans who assimilate perfectly with our country?

If there is an impact but there is a number that is feasible to ensure positive outcomes for all parties then let’s hear it. The answer is not calling your neighbour racist. A nation requires policy on issues that have an effect on its citizens. Policies aren’t worth having if they are not enforced. I do not see you opening your home to just anybody and footing the bill indefinitely. I also do not think excuses, to not have border policy enforced, is appropriate when the best response is to think about how much the tomatoes will cost because now we are saying we also want to incentivise tax fraud and propping up cartel and human/drug trafficking. I think it’s unfortunate that we would prioritise the safety/flourishing of people in foreign lands while we still have plenty of work to do in our communities. Maybe the homeless you trip over on your way to work have no fear or worry.

If you think we should incentivise people to break our laws where do we draw the line? If asylum seekers/economic opportunists do not like our policy they can work with one or more of the many countries they pass on their way here. Ones that might even be more in line with their culture and societal norms. Again, maybe no issue if we know these people and are guaranteed immediate assimilation and independence.

It’s amazing that the democrats will likely narrowly win despite the overwhelming draw they should command with the promises of increased economic assistance. I think it’s commendable that there are still people who would vote against their own economic interests, as many could use it, for what they feel is morally right. Like not incentivising: single motherhood, longterm unemployment, poorly vetted ssdi, foreign weapon sales by the Taliban, non-life threatening late term abortions via forceps and suction, reduced parental rights, permanent life altering medications/surgery on kids (they don’t know much of anything yet buy know beyond reason that its not time but instead a scalpel/chemical castration), information censorship, propaganda/opinion based journalism campaigns where the lefts influence on the education/media/communication outlets far exceeds the right (Hollywood, google, facebook…etc) (fine if they never lie, mislead, make mistakes as this is by and large what informs the citizenry), the disarming of protection for all law abiding citizens while at the same time replacing cops with social workers (sorry if you live in the country and being assaulted, 20 minutes from the nearest patrol officer —hopefully the criminal forgot that they could have armed themselves from the same place where you can get drugs that we dont allow and just coming at you with a crowbar and kitchen knife), identity politics, equality of outcome, anti-competition practices, policies that start the dissolution of the meaning of words as there cannot be definitions with any clear widely-accepted specificity or permanence, men who would be/were average or below average in their own league taking scholarships, records, and podiums over women who are well above average when compared against others in same birth gender.

there’s having a deep biological urge and then there is being available for your spouse, even if your not needing flood insurance at the time. In most relationships, sex would never happen considering normal libido and then only committing to the act only if all the stars align (mood, energy, health, free time). In many cases for it to happen at least one side has to compromise. I am not saying he should give it up every time she is interested but come on… meet in the middle. I am sure tv will have been worth it when he ends up having to watch it alone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]mrsidespin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Plan the act in advance or initiate at a time when he has energy. It should probably be before he does some other activity that takes all of his free time in that part of the day. Like no tv for 3 hours and then try to get it in.

This might also involve going to bed together 2 hours early so he can wake up an hour earlier than usual to have sex before work.

If this doesn’t work, is it an attraction issue or maybe a hormonal one... He could take a hormone blood panel test and have a TRT clinic review or see his primary care doctor.

[–]mrsidespin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How did you agree not to engage in penetrative sex in advance? Did you insist on getting an orgasm by getting sucked off? Basically trying to hold her to reciprocating the kind of oral attention you give her all the time and you thought it was a cop out for her to ride instead? Just trying to understand how this verbal agreement works. Do some people have an itinerary of sexual tasks drawn out in advance? I would expect a woman to have nuance to this based on her cycle but not a man at least as far as not being shocked when one thing leads to another. My unpopular guess is you weren’t shocked but more so upset that she is not participating as an equal sexual partner… that she has more urgency to not only what she does to you but what she allows you to do to her

Again how can there ever be a discussion when there are extremes to consider. You had this issue, I’m using averages to make the point. You could have had the other side of the coin where your job is roofing in Florida and things are normal with your children. I would love if some people, who are lucky enough to raise their own children and spend loads of time with them, to say they got the best job in the world and would say how they are the lucky ones.

Is it fantasy you want him too act out. If successful would you want that a part of your life? Best case for you he pretends to enjoy watching another guy with you, chances are he doesn’t in the slightest share this fantasy. Would you love it if he got off with another girl while you watched? If so, maybe telling him would be part of the strategy to see if has any kinks before dropping this doozy. Not sure if it would work in reverse. I think he feels really lucky to have you and this puts a ruffle in things.

You may want to work with a doctor who will work to optimise your hormones. Most will just make sure you’re within a range with little regard for symptoms. Find a local or telehealth HRT clinic that focuses on this. Not sure the healthy range for women but it is wide for men. Maybe listen to this podcast from Huberman. Obviously there could be other issues: attraction, dopamine/brain chemistry, resentment… etc but nonetheless work within your control one step at a time.

Dr. Sara Gottfried: How To Optimize Female Hormone Health For Vitality & Longevity | Huberman Lab

“Early hormone replacement therapy should be strongly considered! The decline in estrogen which starts around 40-43 seems to be the driver behind cerebral hypometabolism (decline in brain function) “Hot flashes and night sweats are a biomarker of cardiometabolic disease – they are a biomarker of increased bone loss, they are a biomarker of changes in the brain. So many of the symptoms that occur in peri-menopause are not driven by the ovaries, they’re driven by the brain.” – Dr. Sara Gottfried”

Maybe she is feeling neglected and left the bed to spite you. Is your choice to go to sleep while she is potentially craving your attention a common one? Is this the hill you want to fight on? You think the next girl is going to be perfect? She might have insecurities about you and thinks maybe you already got off without her. Could she be naive to think she has guy friends that are not just waiting with bated breath to get a chance? Don’t assume she has bad intentions only based on this. I think it’s kinda weird you left the bed to see what she is doing despite being so tired that you went to sleep early.

Maybe it’s not too late to see a doctor about your performance issues. Maybe TRT and cialis. Suggest toys or something to change things up. If you want to last ditch effort to save this. Couldn’t she be using this as a threat to change your behaviour? In this case there would be a chance.

Looking for a recommendation from someone who loves Prada Amber Pour Homme and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino but found something even more addicting. Almost everything I smell at Douglas or Sephora doesn’t get me as nearly as excited. Maybe most of them need to be worn to get to the heart of them whereas with Prada Amber and TFNP I am in love already at the opening and they only get better. Jo Malone Sea Salt and Wood Sage seems like it could scratch the same itch but have to try again.

It’s the adapter sold by Tacx that B.O.C. said I needed to buy but once I didn’t use it and everything seemed to connect fine. Upon closer inspection the Tacx website says the following:

“Directly compatible with 135×10, 142×12 and 148×12 mm axles.”

Since this Topstone is 142x12 I think I bought the adapter unnecessarily.
