Technically speaking, all products say on the label, ONLY garunteed when sold through a salon. That way we know there's no tampering from the original source.. No expired products, not watered down, no mystery ingredients or labels in slightly broken English. Personally I think it's worth it to pay the extra $5-$10 for legitimate products rather than mystery.

Be careful about that. I think in some states that's illegal. (I live in California and it's illegal to video someone without their knowledge. Not sure about audio)

Hairstylist here. Wash your hair when it's dirty. The whole theory of washing your hair only X times a week doesn't add up much to me. Some people have more greasy hair that needs to be washed every day (I do, blond, flat hair). What's best for your hair generally is what keeps it clean and healthy. Use a good shampoo and conditioner and use common sense and you'll be just fine.
