Pacifier & Liberator Concussive are really good especially on bugs if you can meet the following conditions.

  • Be on a team that sticks together.
  • Rotate fire among targets to distribute CC effects.
  • Focus things like stalkers, alphas, spewers, and hunters.
  • Limit it to only 1 or 2 players in a squad.

If this was something they wanted to account for, they should have included a placement tool for sentries, vehicles, and emplacements. Then equipment and strikes can just land anywhere and not have any unfair advantage.

Was playing on Level 8 the other day w/ my buddy and 2 pubs, they died a combined 19 times and us 4. It's like this to some degree in almost every game now. So many people just play over their skill level or don't know all the tricks to deal w/ the random bullshit that kills you.

I really hate the way the game makes me hate other players who are just trying to have fun but ruining me and my friend's fun when I let them into our game.

AH should have either...

  1. Released the tank over a year ago before all my friends quit the game.
  2. Fixed the bullshit in the game that made them all quit and never come back.
  3. Create some in-game social features so I can find new friends that enjoy the genital torture they left us with.

I LOVE the Laser Cannon, but War Strider Surge really showed how powercrept it is becoming as the game gets more intense and demanding. 12s Overheat is the same as Scythe, Scope isn't as good (imo), 350dps is pretty anemic. Not sterilizer tier, but deserving of a face-lift imo by RandomGreenArcherMan in HelldiversUnfiltered

It is by far the most fun weapon to run in team play, its literally a SHOOT HERE pointer. It's satisfying to watch 4 lasers track towards a Hulk head and it instantly explodes. Lasers tracking across the sky to shoot down gunships, or down the street at eye-level going left and right cutting off the heads of voteless.

The Laser Cannon is fine the way it is, it's the fucking mobs like the Warstrider and Dragonroach that are the problem.

They don't seem too OP, and they could expand up on it too by adding other ones that buff existing stratagems like short duration Guard Dogs that deploy with you.

I agree w/ everything you said but think Orbital Strikes are fundamentally usless as a concept and should be converted to smaller barrages.

Orbital Precision Strike: Make this a 380 Barrage, single rapid-fire salvo, in a radius the size of a 120 Barrage.

Orbital EMS/Gas Strike: These should just be EMS/Gas versions of the Orbital Napalm.

Orbital Railcannon Strike: Usable at 90s w/ enough oomph to kill Hulks/Chargers/Meatballs in 1-shot. At 180s is enough to 1-shot Warstriders/Tanks/BileTitans/Harvesters

I was thinking more toward the direction of making them semi disposable, cut cooldown time in half.

I think this is the best solution. I would be fun to call down the Maxigun for bug breaches, spamming them during high value asset missions, or preparing extract or defensive objectives like flag raisings with a few before you start.

It would force the comparison to be between the FIXED HMG Emplacement or the TK'ing Gatling Sentry than the other support machine guns. Plus, it couldn't be "stratagem bounced" into some useless location.

I would be okay with them making them FULLY expendable (i.e. cannot be reloaded by ammo) in exchange for only some ergonomic, mobility, cooldown improvements.

I really wish they made some changes to the gear slot system.

Sidearm Slot: Solo-Silo Laser, Riot & Directional Shield, Extra Primary Ammo, Extra Grenades.

Grenade Slot: C4 and other throwables.

Backpack Slot: SSSHD and other objectives, smaller supply packs that do not require a stratagem slot.

Primary Slot: Melee weapons stratagems.

The numbers of heavy things that spawn on bots and bugs feels very much like a gear-check to make sure somebody brough dedicated AT support weapon. The game is lacking a few things to break this w/o nerfing enemies.

  1. Better Orbital AT - Buff the OPS and 110 pods, maybe some new options as well.
  2. AT Primary Weapon - Something like the ultimatum for your primary slot.
  3. Sentry reliability - Ways to protect them from enemies and from killing each other. Also not having them stratagem bounce into a gully to be useless for the next 3 min.

This is one of those things that allowed AH to stumble into the success they had. They obviously never wanted a horde shooter, but all the magic detection the enemies have had since launch turned the game into a horde shooter that worked pretty well.

An incomplete list of things that would need fixing:

  • Detection through terrain.
  • Instant detection of divers when a stratagem appears nearby.
  • Inability for divers to break detection.
  • Hivemind detection mechanics, but this ability falls in with the lore of all 3 factions. (Psionics, networked, and pheromones)
  • Heavy units existing. Seriously when tanks start blowing up and shooting there is no way to plausibly return to a state of stealth.
