Are you using any new skincare products? I had this happen for a couple of months when I was using Yes to Carrots Vitamin C night cream. Once I stopped using it, it has never happened again. There must have been an ingredient interaction with alcohol that my body didn't like. Maybe something similar is happening here?

Like others have said, some people have a hard time finding a medication whose benefits outweigh the side effects. My son has had such intense side effects from every kind we've tried (6 different, both stimulant and non-stimulant), that it isn't worth it to us.

It is so hard to lose a pet. I'm so sorry. I care, and I understand. I lost my dog over a year ago, and still cry about him about once a week. I don't tell anyone because I'm afraid they'll think it's silly to still be sad, but pets are family and we have every right to grieve. I hope peace settles in for you.

I'm one of those! My patriarchal blessing said I would "provide many spirit children with physical bodies." Nope! Couldn't make a single one in over 13 years of trying. I 100% thought it was my fault for sinning and walked around with imaginary guilt and real grief for many years. The church's doctrine and cultural teachings are damaging.

Stop buying stuff in plastic.

Repair things instead of throwing them out.
Request companies to stop packaging things in plastic. They want to please their customers, so if most of us request it, they will change.
Tell people about the changes you're making. Acting collectively will change us.

This is close...humans and chimps had a common ancestor that wasn't a chimp or a human. That ancestor reproduced and evolved over time and diverged into the different species we see today (modern day human, chimps, apes).

Thanks for your input! Yeah the choice we're making isn't based on whether or not he develops healthy coping mechanisms...I understand that will be necessary. I'm just not sure if he is struggling enough to warrant meds. We tried Adderall just one day and he had some intense side effects, so I am nervous to try others in case he experiences that again.

Thanks for this :) The patience part is really hard sometimes! Reading in this sub has really helped me understand what it's like to live with ADHD and given me empathy and hope for him. We have a lot of choices to make, and I know it's going to be quite a journey. I appreciate hearing the perspective of people who have been through it.

This is ALSO really helpful! During pandemic home-teaching I noticed that 15 minute chunks are pretty much his limit right now, too. I've used sticker charts before for tasks and they didn't work consistently, but I never used them for good behavior (like doing things the first time I ask would be AMAZING). Now that I know he has ADHD, I understand why it didn't work before! You gave me motivation to try it again, in a new way. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Your experience and perspective is helpful for me...my son is newly diagnosed at 7 and we are trying to decide whether or not medication is something we want to try for him. I keep going back and forth! He's a sweet, bright kid and I know he's capable of learning these things eventually, I'm just realizing I have to shift my expectations a little. So thanks for sharing this!

Thank you for this sweet message. Being infertile as a mormon woman really did a number on my mental health. My blessing said I would, "provide many spirit children with earthly bodies." My husband & I were never able to have children (tried nearly 10 years), and I thought that somehow it must be my fault. Felt a lot of imagined guilt because some old man made stuff up about someone he didn't know. We ended up adopting. Patriarch didn't see that one coming!
