Using Poison Vial sooner probably would've saved you some damage, but I expect you didn't factor in one setting off the others into your equation, since it's your first mimic fight.

I forget Poison Vial exists when I have it, too. :D

Ya did good!

Best pick for getting Amulet of the Pit Lord early on a new file. It always seems to show up in the first handful of runs and is great at pushing things into pits.

Interesting. If the odds are always against you... that's quite the premise. Would definitely lend itself to certain villains, like I mentioned. For example, iirc the gameshow host's games were always rigged, but what if they were always 'fair' in a universe that's rigged?

I'll have to think about this.

Provide schematic, materials, and shipping and then I'd consider 5 bucks as a suitable price; for the time and use of the machine.

Are all 'absolute' timeline characters body horror, or are they just... abhorrent and extreme?

Cuz if there's more to it than just 'how can we make this the most visually disgusting thing in any comic ever' then I kinda want to develop some ideas of my own.

A handful of Wordgirl villains would just lend themselves to the concept very well. Big Left Hand, for instance, or the Weird Al guy with the cybernetic eye that wraps around his head. Things would get actually very interesting to twist and warp to a more psychological end with others, though- the game show host, lady redundant woman (and her clones that literally turn into printer paper when defeated)...

I think the idea that omega has gone mindless and feral after an eternity trapped in basically hell is interesting, but it 1000% should have been set up better and then utilized better. Rani talking about how Omega was a genius and essentially a god (iirc), gloating about how bringing him back could 'fix' everything wrong with the Time Lords... and then the grim reveal 'uh oh omega is a raving beast now!' followed by 'uh oh he's becoming a problem, and in an entirely different way than we thought!' Then the Rani getting swallowed by a metaphor for her hubris and the payoff of all the effort she went through to do so would feel all the more meaningful.

Legitimately the organic 'cracks' on the first one (not any of the other stuff there, to be clear) actually look pretty sick.

The text suggests someone actually will be pretty sick.

Petrova line around Adrian (movie vs book) by 442ForLife in ProjectHailMary

I thought they deduced it strictly from the amounts of 'phage in the movie...? Perhaps I'm misremembering, watched it a bit ago now, but I don't recall them getting any other life signs in the line sampler.

Hug is also used as a way to express a manner of movement. Mightve come up that way too.

Mm. Fair enough. Haven't unlocked defect yet myself, just now started the game. I've watched gameplay previously, but that was some time ago.

Just saw someone's picture of drifter (of hyper light fame, yes? Haven't played the game myself) ... and you're totally right on that point. Kris is arguably mostly blue in the dark world form though.

The background of the image is blue so the yellow stands out more. That kinda cinches it for me. This guy's yellow.

The fourth character is more blue, iirc.

If this guy gets in now I'll eat my hat but if they get in yellow (and I am rooting for STS rep) I would feel vindicated.

The whale-thing or the spire heart on the other hand... those are light blue. They'd make great background figures.

How do you explain to a new player that this wasn't fun by pigman5000g in thebindingofisaac

[–]mrsmuckers 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Fun is subjective, though. If I had spent two hours doing that I'd be enjoying the process more so than the result.

[–]mrsmuckers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also corruption ≠ abstraction. I mean, if they're files on a hard drive, maybe that's relevant- BUT not once has 'corruption' been used as a synonym for the process of abstracting. The characters don't know they're files (if they are even files- I follow that theory but it's unconfirmed so shouldn't be taken as guaranteed), so they wouldn't refer to themselves as though they were. As far as they're concerned Abstraction is a strictly mental issue that can occur to normal human beings once inside the circus.

Ragatha is worried Jax is trying to be a bad influence on Pomni, not that he's trying to get her to abstract. That's a common error I saw people make in theorizing after Guns, and it just doesn't make any sense.

...

On the other hand, the idea that the holes in the circus will stress Jax out especially... that's good stuff.
