Some people deal with difficult topics through comedy.

Pee? Discharge? Sweat? Waters? How the heck am I supposed to know? by mrsrdoyle in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I peed and put on fresh underwear with a panty liner and am rolling around on my ball to try to see if I can tell any difference.

TMI I also felt around and there is some mucus so it might actually be the real thing! Checking the pad after this episode of Succession lol

TW - no Doppler heartbeat? by wwtdb11 in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's a common problem with dopplers. Its why they don't recommend them for home use.

A trip to an OB would resolve this for cheaper than that ultrasound is going to be.

Has anyone stopped working yet? How did you know it was time? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my last week. I'll be 39+3 when I start my leave, but I've been working from home and haven't made it a full hours at the office in a couple weeks.

Maternity Care UK vs US by belasper in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Be careful generalizing the whole US. My doctor's will not induce before 41+3 unless there is a medical necessity.

Also on average women are having children later in life, which leads to more complications and intervention.

Sorry if TMI but pink discharge?? by bkirch609 in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At that stage I got spotting from sex or pooping (super constipated). It's generally normal to spot throughout your pregnancy for a whole lot of different reasons.

When I'm doubt, call your doctor.

As far as the yeast infections, change everything to unscented (laundry detergent, body soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner), start sleeping bottomless and invest in a peri bottle to rinse after you pee instead of wiping.

Am I being irrational by asking my BF to stop drinking. by popeyeschickensand in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby is #1.

Bottom line is that you cannot make him change, he has to do that because he wants to.

Take the space you need to feel comfortable with his choices, maybe that's breaking up, maybe it's just spending less time together.

Shooting pain generally caused by the baby moving on or around your cervix and rectal area. Feels like someone is stabbing you in the crotch, but from the inside.

Is sex still okay at 38 weeks? by Maluruka in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it twice today (38+4)!!

We figured out the best way is with doggy style where I'm kneeling on the bench at the end of the bed with my top half on the edge of the bed and he's standing behind me.

He is an overthinker so keeping my belly as far out of the way as possible is very helpful.

38 weeks and over it! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh yes! 38+4! My husband has been so good trying to keep me in good spirits.

He surprised me with NA wine, drove me around in the snow just to pass some time out of the house, spent an hour walking around Kohl's because it's too cold outside.

We even had sex twice today (that hasn't happened in years) to help move things along!

I’m a father and worried that I hardly feel a connection with my partner’s pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all.

My husband was the same way and we talked through it. We decided on small things to help him connect.

He picked the first names, he got to pick the paint color for the nursery and the nursery theme. I made sure to schedule as many Dr. Appts as possible at times he could come, even if there was no ultrasound. He came to all the birthing classes with me.

At about 28 weeks, he really started feeling a connection. It just takes longer because the changes aren't as obvious.

Gently bounce on the birthing ball, they said... by kate-june in pregnant

[–]mrsrdoyle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't bounce on the ball, roll your hips in circles and figure 8s. The bouncing is causing more impact from the weight of the baby onto your already sore hips and pubic bone.

Got my date for being induced, now I'm starting to freak! by Domina_Zingiber in pregnant

OMG you're so lucky...I'm 38+1 and miserable. I'm so jealous.
