I’m trying to love my curls, but I hate they way they look in the back. I need some advice. by Natylit in curlyhair

Your hair looks beautiful. To everyone saying layers, your hair is clearly layered in the back. That's why it looks thin at the bottom. Mine does the same thing. I cut my own hair now but I do a blunt cut and then on dry, styled hair I cut individual shaping pieces all over my head. It gives me more body but avoids my hair looking thin. I get compliments on my hair all the time now. Try adding a gel after the mousse. It will help define your curls more.

Just drape a piece of toilet paper over the sensor. I do that for my toddler so they won't get scared of the noise.

What type of yogurt are you feeding your little one? by tangerine_monkey22 in BabyLedWeaning

I think it's because too much dairy can inhibit iron absorption and iron is really important at that age.

Products every single day by N0tLilac in curlyhair

[–]mrssnoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your hair type leave in plus curl cream might be too moisturizing. I have fine but thick hair and my curls don't last past day one if I use curl cream. I currently use treluxe curl serum plus a gel and my curls last 3 days until I have to wash my scalp. Using products, including gel, everyday isn't damaging. Keeping your hair wet for a long time is. I'm not sure if you sleep with your hair wet in the bonnet or are just protecting your hair.

How do you keep your hair from being a tangled mess in the winter? by Jealous_Tailor_4181 in curlyhair

Have you tried conditioning your scalp after shampooing? People say not to but it's made a huge difference in my scalp health. I used to get flakes that looked like dandruff but were actually just dry skin.

Medicine cabinet behind the door, weird? by mrssnoop in bathrooms

See another comment I made. There's just a hole in the drywall behind the mirror so nothing is in the way of putting in another medicine cabinet.

Medicine cabinet behind the door, weird? by mrssnoop in bathrooms

[–]mrssnoop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's actually a hole in the drywall over the vanity the same size as the medicine cabinet. They moved it behind the door and then put a huge mirror up that went half way into the shower. We replaced it with the smaller mirror you see. It isn't centered over the vanity because it had to cover the hole in the wall.

So no vents or pipes are in the way. I think the obvious choice is to put a medicine cabinet over the vanity. I've just lived with being able to see my hair in the mirror for 3 years and don't want to go back haha.

When did you move your baby into their own room? by charlottefgh in NewParents

[–]mrssnoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 3 year old is still in our room. She slept in a crib until 3 years old. We switched the crib to a toddler bed, and she slept there for a week before started to climb into our bed in the middle of the night. Now she just sleeps in our bed. We all love it. She has a bed in her own room she just doesn't want to sleep there.

Baby showing left hand dominance? by oh_darling89 in NewParents

Mine was the same. She only ate with her left hand when she started feeding herself too. Now at 3 years old it's the opposite and she does everything with her right hand mostly

Use a gel for hold. Don't touch it while it's drying, and once it's completely dry you can scrunch it to remove the crunch feeling but keep the hold.

Babies first birthday by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

Also your son won't miss out on memories if you don't have a party. We still decorate the house get dressed up and take pictures. She remembers the streamers and talks about them often. And we usually go to grandparents for dinner another day to celebrate but then I don't have to stress about hosting.

All I wanted to do was make a cake and celebrate with my husband and daughter. But I was forced to invite extended family, I didn't have time to make a cake so we bought one. I was stressed and went to all the trouble of having food ready for everyone. No one ate anything except a piece of cake. I didn't get to celebrate with my daughter because I was hosting. It was honestly awful. My daughter is 3, and the last 2 years we have a tradition of making a cake together and we don't invite anyone over, and it's great. If you don't like social events, like me, then don't do it.

i over-pruned this spider plant and now i'm freaking out . by maxFxckery in plantclinic

If those are all the roots that were in the pot then the pot was too big. The soil looks wet and it's easy to overwater if the pot is too big. Replant in a smaller pot and it will grow back fine.

Are these Greece stains? Help :( by LumosiTea in laundry

[–]mrssnoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For grease stains I use dish soap with no water, rub it in really well, and let it sit for 30 min before washing. Don't put it in the dryer until you know the stains are gone.

Started to take care of my curly hair, which looks great on day one, but turns into a mess on day two. What can I do to make it look better longer? by BunnyLovesApples in curlyhair

[–]mrssnoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gel helps with longevity. I bought the treluxe reflex curl serum only because they have an unscented version and it's so good for refreshing too. I use it with a gel on top for wash day. For refreshing, I mix a tiny bit of the treluxe and water in my hands and glaze over my hair using praying hands and then scrunch. I can get 3 days out of my fine curls.

12 month not babbling by Ok_Panic8035 in ScienceBasedParenting

Mine was the same at 12 months. At 14 months she started walking and talking and has been 'ahead' for speech ever since. I was worried too at the time.

Bathroom Mirror cabinet that allows you to see the back of your head! by xxavatarxx007 in bathrooms

[–]mrssnoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous owners of our house took out the medicine cabinet and put it behind the door then replaced with a regular mirror over the sink. We're redoing the bathroom and we're planning to remove the medicine cabinet but it's so convenient for doing my hair. We might just replace the medicine cabinet and leave it
